what's the oldest piece of clothing that you still wear?
I have some adidas sports pants from 1997, and are still like new.
I've been wearing 50% of my shoes since 2005.
And I have a jacket from 2001.

the shorts i'm wearing right now i've had since 2002, they ripped in the crotch the very first day i wore them and i've just stitched them back up for the 2nd time yesterday. They're the only pair of shorts i own.
I have a pair of basketball pants that were used when i got them and i've been wearing them since 1999.
I just 'goodwilled' a bunch of stuff i had since 1998.
However, i do have tons of new cloths, so don't think of me as a vagabond.
probably this hooded top iv got on now. i've had it since 2007 and its one of the few things i kept when i cleared out all my clothes earlier on this year.
I have an Alias Wavefront Maya shirt. Still wear it.
Hmmm... oldest that I still wear once in a blue moon is a Florida Panthers hockey jersey from '93 signed by Martin Straka and Radek Dvorak.
Oldest hanging in the closet are a couple of Karate and Ninjutsu gi's from '86-'91 that I keep around in the false hope that eventually I'll get back into shape again... someday...
Oldest that I have packed away somewhere is a denim jacket from '83 that has a hand painted design of a black heart and sword with Loyal Rogues in calligraphy. (The birth of my handle and renaissance group.)

I have shirts that are from the late 90's, shoes from the late 80's and since I rotate shoes, they look still new-ish.
I have jackets from... the early 90's, and one shirt I refuse to get rid of from 1987 - indian madras shirt given to me, then too big, now, about too small (sucks in gut)
LOL, today I am wearing a chunky woollen sweater hand knitted for me over 25 years ago. It sort of fell apart a few years ago, so I sewed it back together with string ...it's my comfort clothes when it's cold and dreary ...I probably wouldn't wear it out though.

I've got a belt, Lacoste polo shirt and a rain parka from around 91.
The belt is molded to the shape of my waist. :D
...btw, is this the 'Official How old are your clothes thread'? I don't wanna be posting in the wrong place.

My t-shirt is about from 2002 :)

Some of the posts in this thread are creeping me out.
When I say creeping me out, I mean it in a Howard Hughes saving your old urine kind of way.
I have a pair of gently used spandex roller skating shorts from 1989 that I frequently rub all over my face in an attempt to regain the glory of my youth. Puck from the original Real World ain't got nuthin' on me.
Fixed
bwahahaha!
I just...have to...

Far be it from me to disparage another man's private fantasy pron, but nothing about that pic screams either "Glory" nor "Youth"...
...oh wait, that was the point, I get it now.
:cap:
The oldest is a green and white tie-died t-shirt i got around 1992, i still wear it on weekends sometimes, it is full of holes and covered in blue paint.
My watch is 12 years old, i have replaced its innards many times over the years.
Most of my clothes these days are hand-me-ups from my sons, though I buy my own shorts and hawaiian shirts each year. But I do have a gorgeous velvet shirt, a sort of browny-green with purple diamonds, on that I brought in Kensington High St. in about 1971. Still fits, though I can't button it up these days.
:) not sure that counts then...
...but it sounds very trendy;), what does the collar look like?Quote:

...oh, and speaking of Hawaiian shirts, I have a really nice one from the early 60's but I bought only earlier this year. It has a band of surfboards and hibiscus flowers. i wear it when I play my ukulele ;)
a couple of T-Shirts I got in 2001 while living in Paris, specially the Cannes festival one, but I also have lots of new clothes that I hardly wear, I'm a creature of habit when it comes to clothes, specially when lying around the house
I have a Bad Tour t-shirt that is from 1988. I didn't buy it new of course, I was 2.

after a mental inventory, I have a jeans jacket, with sewn clothes patches all over it from the 90's ^_^
still in a very wearable state
I have a Ricky Williams Dolphins jersey.
It might have been valuable had they not let him back on the team after the CFL stint. :D
Also have a Steve McNair Titans jersey. That's probably worth something now. Hadn't thought about that...
Jerseys don't really increase in value unless they are signed and/or game worn.
Maybe not much for such recent players. But, I'm pretty sure that there are people that would pay more than the original price for old Montana, Cunningham, etc. jerseys.
Replica throwbacks already sell for more than new modern jerseys: http://www.mitchellandness.com/
Have you seen those mitchell and ness jerseys? They are works of art, not your typical off the shelf stuff.
Speaking of jerseys, I recently went to my first Florida Panthers game in years and wore my signed jersey.
By a very cool coincidence one of the players that signed my jersey back in the 90's, Radek Dvorak, was back on the team (after playing for New York, Edmonton, and St. Louis over the last 10 years), and I got to watch him score a hat-trick in the last seconds of the game.
I couldn't have picked a better game to go to.
you're not supposed to wear signed jerseys
