Matt, that is a beautiful shot!! I think you are in no danger of being banned and you didn't need the Grand Canyon! You don't want to duplicate Ansel Adams, just creat the quality he had....and in this foto I think you did quite well at that.
Ok Carly, now that I have bragged on how well you have come along in the last year, lets see something fantastique!! I know you can do this one!
Ohhhh El, I love that shot!
WannaBe, those are very pretty. :-)
Rob, I have seen you do some similar type shots in the past so I think you don't need any tips, just some great scenery which you obviously found!! VERY GOOD JOB! . :-)
Yasu, that is a very nice foto and the porcelain effect you used looks good on it, but as Rob says, it is a bit soft for Adam's style. I am guilty of doing the soft focus myself many times.
Oh yeh EVP! show em all the tricks! and then Like Rob says, you post a red button??!! :-)
Ok, I tried sevaral things, and just couldn't top Rob........ so I chose to get upclose and personal with some of our local foliage! :-) I am going to try some pretty Dutch clouds with the full moon this evening, if the weather is agreeable!

This has gotta be the win! Insanely good mate!
That is an Ansel Adams picture he posted to show what his inspiration was.
Really?? I'm getting confused...Quote:

The photo you mentioned is the Ansel Adams picture that inspired him to take the one he posted above it. He put it up to show us.Quote:

(limited with subjects to shoot for today, so just took a shot off the balcony).
comments and crits always more than welcome :)
here is the one i originally posted (just for reference).
Bit grainy and a little too dark in my eyes...the clouds are amazing, there's a storm coming up right?
Adding the border was a good idea :D
haha you must have seen it before i updated it. i also lightened it a little. might do it a little more though.
yeah, is very grainy isn't it? :(
EDIT: updated.... let me know what you think, i know it;s far from perfect!
Wow! Really nice... Love the colour & composition and it has great impact!
Only thing I'd say is the harsh white on the left of the sky is a bit distracting, sort of drags your eye out a bit.
This has gotta be the best Themed Photography ever!
That is your view? Jealous!
ok, that was the last edit- i promise. have darkened the sky there a bit.Quote:
