I have a got a problem. I am using the flash plugin in visual basic, becuase I want to use flash for an interface in a vb project. However I dont know how to communicate t and from VB, ie send strings into flash, call functions from flash.

I never tried to do that with a VB program but I did communicate with an ASP script so it might be the same...
To send or recieve variables from and to another script/program you need to use the 'loadvariables' function... Maybe it might work...

fraid ive never deleved to deep into integrating the 2, but i did see that in the boxed version of flash4, there was a 'samples' folder that has an example of how vb can control a flash movie on it.
just thought that id throw that in to the mix, ill have a look at VB5 ive got here and see what i can see.
dont suposed im gonna get an answer to this one any time soon, oh well.

ok , im no wiz with this stuff, ive used flash, and VB5 seperately, on an above beginner lev.
ill do my best to help, ive got a book here at home for VB5 , if you want anything ill try and help as best i can, ive got VB at work, but ive got flash at home :<

ok, i am very good in VB, and i have been using flash for a while now... and to my conclusion the only way you can communicate between vb and flash is by using the Flash ocx's frame number event. So this will be very hard. for every thing, you have to tell flash to goto a certain frame to do something... in other words... EXTREAMLY hard
nah there is a getvariable method for the flash control, it just doesn't seem to work, always returns a type mismatch.
