What does everyone else think of the new flashkit?
in a month or so when things settle down from the migration, bring this up again. We might be able to create a yellow-style template/skin just for you ;) :)
Brad!
What happened? Where am I?
Looks nice!
Frankly, I don't like new design. This will be the end of Flashkit!
Overall it's fine but I can't tell the status of threads, those icons look too much alike
more than the yellow, what happened to Planet? wasn't he the Flashkit Admin?
Planet still stops by every few days etc...
LOL, the yellow WILL return. I swear it!
I don't mind the new look. But the yellow was so "retro" it was just about to come back "in"
:)
Will be interesting to see how/if it affects the frequency of posts...
Can I just say what a great job the developers have done in migrating FK over to VB4, my own VB forum only has 25,000 members and I had a huge number of problems migrating so I know what a headache it can be.
It does not feel the same without the yellow but if was not to make a return I am sure everybody would soon forget about it.
Well done to the FK team and can not wait for the iOS app, personally I have found that nearly 30% of my members now use the iOS app for VB on my forum and it has helped to increase interactions on the forum with one member even asking me to ban him because he is spending too much time on the forum through the app !
Should I mention that VB 5 will be on the cards soon ;)
while the modern look is kinda refreshing, it's very hard to read for me for some reason. I miss the yellow simplicity.
The old yellow forum was so easy to use,
It was slow but it was the best and this new template feels like were just on any plain old forum. Sure it has some cool features now but
I dont have that "feel" towards this forum anymore and i'm a 2 year member but long time viewer. :(
What are your thoughts?

I think the yellow had become part of the Flashkit brand. So, it should return as the default, imo.
Also, not a fan of putting the nav and ads on the right. It creates a huge strip of dead space beneath it and needlessly squishes the content area in. That stuff belongs above the content area so that posts can use the entire width of the browser.
I look at this with a fairly wide monitor. I kind of like the way it frames the posts.
A month huh?????
I sent a reminder on Monday about create a "yellow" template. The short version of the reply is:
Quote:
It is in the official internal queue, so the task is being tracked and will eventually happen.
