Click and Drag Slider that plays a movieclip...

I'm trying to create a click and drag slider that when it is dragged to the right, it will change a variety of images, and when it is dragged back to the left, the images play in reverse. Basically I want a nested movieclip to play a animation sequence where the user is in control of the sequence using the slider. Does that make sense?

I know how to build the slider, but I don't know how to tell the slider to cycle through the images when it is dragged to the right or left. I've tried and failed a number of times so I'm coming to the experts for some help.

If anyone can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if this doesn't make sense.
