Controling an MC with an html url

I've found many tutorials and threads on how to pass a variable from my html url to my Flash movie so as to control the MC,, but none of them seem to cover what to do with that variable.

I have a simple Flash header. Within the header is a MC withimages. I need that MC to go to a different frame depending what html page the visitor is on.

ie: services.html (my movie clip would go to frame #2 or label "services")
contact.htm (my movie clip would would go to frame #3 or label "contact")
etc.

Can someone either describe step by step, or direct me to, the instructions to make this happen?
