... And I bump this back to the top with my two cents worth ...
Everyone screams for their right to speak freely ... well, fine ~ but please ~ act with the responsibility that accompanies that right. We all know what those responsibilities are, but I see people's anger being used as an excuse to shed those responsibilities.
We all have strong opinions about current affairs ~ I'm sure, to a degree, we all feel our opinion is the 'right' one ~ we like to have a friendly little debate over it ~ Fine ... Follow the rules of any *good* debate ... BE CONSTRUCTIVE ~ You raise a problem - also have in hand a solution ~ just for the record, 'you're an idiot' is not a solution ... STAY ON TOPIC ... AVOID ABUSIVE COMMENTS- when you attack someone personally, you're no longer a debater ~ you're a bully ... and last but not least ~ Decisions of all moderators are final. ~ If you want complete freedom to say exactly what you want to say, set up your own board ~ because this one is not yours ~ you don't set the rules here - you follow them.
I, for one, am sick to death of the moderators constantly having to defend themselves or explain themselves. They are doing a thankless job and getting paid a big fat whopping zero. They deserve your respect for making this place what it is and not allowing it to become what it could be if they were not here.
