Here's a thought...how about you just give me the $17,500? ;)
hm... not so superb...
Totally agree with you there; if I may vent for a moment...I hate those toffy nose gits who insist that you must have a degree or masters in fine art to be a artist/designer. When I conduct interviews I look at technique, portfolio and what tools they can use. It's as simple as that for me.
I suppose in any industry, sport and demographic there snobs in all fields.

If a friend said he had a brilliant dream and decided to put it paper and I thought is was drawn bad with no colour, this would be my opinion.
I doesn't matter what you can draw and cant draw because in the end you can look at what you have done and say its art even though no-one else does.
Theres art in all of us mate!
Maybe I should close this thread ? too many posts ;)
Don't close the thread!!!
Bach, Beethoven and Mozart are considered today geniuses. Their music is considered one of the most exquisite forms of art. However:
-Mozart created hundreds of pieces with such ease than it's even difficult to simply write his music. He just lived 35.
-Beethoven really had to struggle hard to create something (not just because his ear problems). He didn't even create one tenth of Mozarts production.
-Bach was considered a good artisan of music, but never an artist, until 200 years later his name came back from oblivion.
We tend to consider Artists those who create with ease, full of constant ideas and a fast realization of their dreams. However, couldn't we consider as artists those who work hard, very hard, and will only get a small glimpse of masterpiece once in their life?

OK, now that we have gotten a sufficient amount of interest, we would like to hold a contest for a flash design that comes from our logo for our future teen job site. We have decided to call the site TEENGIGS.com.
If you are interested in competing and getting the $100 prize, we would appreciate your providing a response email directly to this post or directly to me at PGennarelli@TeenGigs.com. The contest ends on October 1 and we will make an announcement by Oct. 15.
We will send the logo to you after we have received your email. No restrictions on design....just make sure the color pallet is taken into account. We especially like the stuff that some have you have posted in your signatures so far...the music is great and thanks to Macromedia for FLASH.
We should all aim to make this fun. This will also be a way for you to get credit on doing a professional job. Remember its the winning design and not how old your are.
We may even poll the FLASHKIT community to see what design they like...that would be interesting.
Thanks sleepless for pushing us sooner than we had planned for.
Keep it going, we'll get there.
