i've seen threads before about what people listen to when they design...
what i'm looking for here is to compile a list for my winamp which has some good songs for thinking/designing...
what i'm thinking is more of slow songs and such (maybe classical, etc.)
for example, when i want to think i like to listen to the theme from "the legend of bagger vance"
post please
not much slow music here when I'm working.

The Blade Runner album, or maybe Lemon Jelly. Or Moon Safari by Air.
Tortoise - this band produces some of the best thinking music, and it is great to design to. try the album 'TNT' first.
It all depends on my mood.
If I'm feeling agro I listen to things like:
Metallica
Nirvana
Limp Bizkit
Black Sabbath
Nine Inch Nails
Smashing Pumpkins
If I'm feeling more relaxed it's everything from Bob Marley to Carl Orff.
well right now i got a lil Mason Williams Classical Gas, Pink Floyd, and Portishead nice and smooth to start the day..but when i really get goin its Mudvayne, Linken Park, Coal Chamber, Gorillaz (look for dracula)

well it all depents on my mood but most of the time its:
Future Sound off Londen(FSOL), Death in Vegas, Tricky and a lot more
i really like a mix tape, md, cd etc. i like mixing myself its great to listen a whole journey its have a beginning and a end with a whole story inside, i really like acid techno and ambient mixes and especially L.S.G in to deep that`s the best thing i ever heard.

Music from the matrix is cool, but I stop designing and go watch the film instead so maybe I should stop. Agree with Napalm, Limp Bizkit, NIN and even Offspring when I'm feeling mellow!

Well, as of tuesday the new incubus cd is all i listen to. damn good stuff.
But when i need ideas or have to design something...i throw in some trance

-Ferry Corsten/system F. Get his "live in oslo" mixed set if you can find it.
-Anything by Paul Oakenfold
-Dee Dee "Forever", the Ivan Van Dahl mix
Also just pretty cool stuff:
-J Ralph, "one million miles away". Its the theme from the VW jetta comercial. Got an opera-like feel to it..very cool.
-Mudvayne, for when you're feeling pissed
-Pennywise
-K5, "Lovin' feeling"
-Dreamweavers "me and you"
-Anything by Dave Seaman
-Any of the Gatecrasher CD's(wet is my personal fav.)

depends on how fast I want to work, or how much I have to concentrate on something.
The new Jimmy Eat World album, Bleed American, has been good lately for making me work fast.
Other than that, I really only listen to instrumental stuff or techno, so I don't get distracted singing along:

The Crystal Method, especially the new album
sometimes jazz and classical music, I listened to these more when I was in college studying, not doing that anymore though. done.
