Starship Troopers is number 1. One of the great things is the way that the internet looks in the future- "WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW MORE?" Especially the bit where the cow is attacked by an alien. Very dark.
The first Alien film is my 2nd fave.
Who said Star Wars Episode I?
Meesa head go bye bye! Shame on you dude!
i've not seen the whole of casino, but the ending was aweeesome!!!
Goodfellas
Blade runner
Le Samourai
Usual suspects
The Exorcist
plus any kubrick flick except eyes wide shut..
m

I'm not interested in starting fires. I don't want to frighten people by showing them tragedy. I've never seen an exploding helicopter, I've never seen anybody go and blow somebody's head off. So why should I make films about them?"
A
he/she/they should make films about this sort of thing for the very reason he/she/they mentioned, not many people have experienced this sort of thing.Quote:

I hate all these real life films and Northern underdog (See Full Monty, Billy Elliot etc) so depressing !!
I'm not knocking anyones film tastes, I just hate those sorts of statements from Directors/musicians/artists etc that suggests their films are better than "blockbuster films" because they are produced differently.
i wouldnt think many ppl from around here would be familiar with this film - its a brilliant one !Quote:

I have it on tape and firstly watched it when i was still as artschool. You dont have to be into feminist studies to enjoy it but the symbolism and narrative will keep you going for awhile !

Tron. (intro theme song)
I wish they would remake that or create a new story. I could only begin to imagine what the new story would look like.

-Other than Spinal Tap, there weren't any. The 80's was, and always will be a cultural void. Don't bother with the clothes or "The Dry Look". Let's just let it go.

Requiem for a dream. A Top Contender.. it's got a bit of that Guy Ritchie style.. and it's got a fantastic story.. Trust me. you'll find alot of empathy for the Characters.
And it's got Jennifer Conelly too.. what more could you ask ;)

hmmmm
there was an old movie (my film teacher would beat me up for not remembering, maybe y'all can help?) where there were a bunch of people at a hunting party in a house, it got pretty wild... really great movie. i think there was murder involved. black and white flick, a classic, and i can't remember the name durnit.
watched it in the same film class as battleship potempkin...
hmmm
Clue! was a really funny movie, i also liked field of dreams (hey no laughing! i named my mom's cat moonlight ghraham!) , thunderheart, the abyss, and blade.
ghost dog is another good one.
and drunken master.
i have no idea what the best one is, but i do know that old movies are good ones!!! films these days are disappointing more often than not :(
(except for matrix :D and blade)
I notice a lot of people saying Snatch. While I'm not saying Snatch was a bad movie, I ask you, have you not seen Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels? Guy Ritchie's film prior to snatch, and far superior. But, good as it is, I have to say that it isn't my favorite.
I realize that this technically isn't a feature film, but staying true to the holiday spirit, I say "The Snowman". One of the greatest animations ever, and in it's simplicity it is actually quite powerful. Go rent it, or something...
Leon was on last night! ;)
i think forest gump is a good flick :D
