i don't think so that you have to be really rich or you have to buy these stuff like scanners n other stuff. i use these softwares but i don't buy them actually. n being rich is not the thing.if u are that creative then you can work for a compnay for them . n that can earn you too...
I don't know what some peoples problem is? All Adobe and Macromedia products are fairly priced, once you have one version, it's cheap to upgrade to the latest. We had Flash 5 and upgraded to MX for £138 GBP which we thought was really good. Like someone said earlier there are educational versions around of most, we don't use them at our place. We know what's coming out and always make a budget for the programs we really want to use. We may not have upgraded from Flash 5 to MX as soon had we not tried and tested the trial version. Buy the real deal. ;)
i think they are thinking of buy everything all at once, i 2 think the prices are ok (apart from quark) which i still think is overpriced for what it isQuote:

the big waggon companies dont buy 50 at a time, they get one then see if they can make some money, if they do they buy another etc

actually we don't have to worry about these things ...... u all must be thinking HOW and WHY ..... so it is very simple that in our country you can get hundreds of best softwares in just a single CD less than a single USD...... because we have all the softwares pirated . you ppl get FLASH mx on 100 USD and we FLASH mx with more kool softwares less than 1 dollar...

I am a programmer, and it's true I wouldn't like my softwares to be cracked and distributed freely over the internet. But this whole business is only about marketing. They have release date that are pre-established, they then let the users appreciate their software, they try to debug a few lines of code, issue a patch or two and then release an upgrade. Since all companies don't rewrite all of their coding, a new full version is mainly an upgrade of the previous one.
Also, since it's not a good idea to upgrade on an already upgraded version, they know you are bound at one time to buy another full version of their product.
So yes, in a way they are ripping us all.

But I think all the new stuff in AS isn't just an upgrade.
Or look at 3DMax 5. It has an global illumination renderer in it (even it's just a piece from Autodesk Viz 4). It takes a hell of alot of time to develope that code.

i think theres even illustrator-like programs out there, i dont recall what their names are at the moment.. but geez, bragging on a site where its a bannable offense to promote warez "ooh i can steal all the 'kool softwares' for $1" that, im sorry, is just stupid.
get this through your heads : you are not entitled to free software. if you want free software, use open source software. software that costs money costs money for a reason, because it is good software.
did i use pirated software at one point? about a year or 2 ago, i was 14, i had no money, i wasnt fully aware of how cheap educational licenses were. do i use it now? no, because i've done some more programming since and i can appreciate how much work has gone into these programs.

But some companies will offer these new features (that could easily be blended into a new version) as part of what is so-called "expansion pack". (meaning: PAY AGAIN!!!)
But you're right, it takes a lot of time to develop applications like these, and all these companies need to survive if we want to use their products.
Both sides of the story have valid and strong points. But we gotta give credit to all the companies that offer shareware and trial versions of their product. Oftenly, this should be enough for everyone to evaluate the product before purchasing it.

If you really need to use Flash and Co. for free, get the trial programms. It sucks a little to reinstall every 30 days (as i did years ago), but at least it's "semi-legal".
And what do you guys complain. Flash is with it's capabilitys really cheap. Have you ever licensed a CAD or 3D programm? There goes your money.

in fact bill gates is 40 billion $ richer than any of us.

infact,if im the owner of MM ,i would like to see on the market flash mx crackecd copies more than orignals,its a way of advertising.
if i was a programmer i would like my programmes to be cracked all over the world so i can be know,think about MM flash mx a 600$ tool,ouch this s too much,how many of the 300,000 members on flashkit arre willing to pay that much,still MM wants is products to reach all of those.
also i have another example,lets take a look on the middle east market in the eyes of MS,first there was no rules to control cracking MS products ,so every one used it,even huge enterprises cracked it,no one used mac or redhat..or whatever,so MS knew it had the market then,atthe right time ,made a deal with gover. overthere,and gov.s in middle east started making raids on companies to make them pay for thier copies,and so with adobe photshop,do u believe that they only search PC for 4 softwares,MS products,Adobe photoshop,3D max,Autocad.

What if you spent, say, six months creating an application using Flash, (not just some splash screen, mind, but a full-featured app) then you posted it to the web, and someone used a SWF sniffer and stole all your code? What if you spent hours creating beautiful art using Photoshop, and someone stole it and claimed it was theirs?
Macromedia spent millions of dollars rebuilding their entire suite from the ground up, took a huge hit on their stock as a result, and still offer the software at a couple hundred dollars instead of a couple thousand (maybe you remember Authorware?). The price is reasonable, to say the least.
Stealing is stealing.... no matter what kind of excuse you feel you have. I'm just saying imagine if the tables were turned.
