Simple and effective site design.
Two suggestions:
You shouldn't make people enter twice to get into the site. Set up an index page with a javascript detecting the Flash MX plugin so they arrive directly at the preloader enter page.
Secondly, anytime you are asking people to sign up, you should have a privacy policy and terms and conditions in place so that users know there information is not being sold, or used for marketing purposes other than for this site itself.
Bug:
I the posts section the number of threads are not updating.
-
Looks like alot of hard work was envolved..
Good job..
Didn't really get that far into it but everything seemed to work fine..
-
Oh yeh there was one bug I saw, preloader is not woking properly..
Started at 93% loaded
-
looks ok, I'm not a fan of that look but it does seem that a lot of hard work went into the site's features and everything seems to work well.
only thing I would really point out is that when you start it seems a bit confusing but it all comes together when you open up the menu links. Maybe consider just having those areas open at the start? No biggie, must a personal thing.
cheers

hey thanks for the quick feed back,
-first- i thought about having eveything open up at the beginning, i thought it would just make more sense, but i havent decided yet
-as for the pre-loaders, they all seem to begin about half way though the loading process havent figured that out yet
-i will probably get rid of the second entrance of the site, that just doesn't make sense(too caught with everything else i guess)
-i was gonna add a privacy policy thing, havent got there yet
-as for the number of threads, i think you are either talking about the user # posts(which doesnt update until the second post), or the individual forums #threads and #posts, which hasnt been implemented yet
Anyway, thanks for the feed back-

If you don't mind a nit-picky comment, read on. Else, just
skip my post altogether.
Why did you opt for copperplate as your main navigational typeface? fonts should not be chosen at random. think of using fonts the same way you'd consider color, or music, or sound effects. these elements all have meaning. they all have context and history. considering copperplate's context and history, i think it feels out of place here. just one man's opinion, of course.

Hey i dont mind the nit-picky comment, i used to live with graphic designers and they loved to talk about fonts, we would be watching movies and it would be like a game to them too scream out the font being used in the in the opening credits, kinda funny. But anyway, i picked that as my interface font because i think it is a pretty sharp font and plus i dont know anything about fonts, but i do know they are important. And the other font i picked for the actual content was just Arial, but you probably all ready new that. Anyway, if you have any sugestions, please feel free, thanks-

First off, very good job on the site I cant imagine how much time that must have taken to get all that code tweaked.
2 suggestions.
There is no real flair to keep people on the site. Some more images/graphics maybe nice to make the site memorable. People beyond the folks on these boards wont remember a site purely for the script behind it. ;)
Second, Im not keen on the blue/orange combo... Maybe Blue/white or traditional orange/grayscrale but the whole blue/orange thing isnt quite doing it for me. But that is purely opinion.

hey thanks for the info,
I guess i can add some more graphics to the site, it is kinda plain looking. Maybe with some more art on there, the colors wont look so bad or maybe i will pick some new ones. thanks again-
