I like the intro!
1: its clean
2: its smooth
3: love your music effects
4: The music fit to the intro
5: Great logo
Keep up the good work ;)
Bernt Ove Kaasen
i agree with the comment above...very nice intro...the music is very effective, and in sync with the visual effects you've produced!
I like the bit at the end, with the 'explosive' boom noise...sets it up nicely for the lead into the actual site...
but, where is the site?...i take it you haven't finished it yet?...let us know when you have, cos it looks nice so far!...
well done

there are a limited number of flash effects possible. if eric jordan didn't popularize some of them, somebody else would have. am i right? or am i dead wrong?
anyways, this intro is excellent.
maybe this eric jordan guy will copy you. yeah!
Ha! Well Im sick of everyone saying "oh its a jordan copy" about everything that looks remotely like it or has some 45degree angles and whatnot. Since I do this for a living Id like to do something which is distinct and different from what hes doing, but still within the bounds of soemthing thats basically modern looking. For some reason its real easy to get dragged into the style of the times without realizing it. Coming up with something completely new isnt always what the customer expects(aside from being damn difficult), so I need to compete in the league that exists to survive before someone will catch on to anything new I might be doing. Why am I telling anyone all this garbage? No clue, its sunday afternoon and thain' nothin else to do.
Well then now that you've cleared that up :P
your opinion is not "garbage"...
the sharing of ideas is exactly what community forums should encourage... and it's what i enjoy reading...
here's my thought on "design ripping"...
i work under the assumption that we live in a post-modern era... to me, this means that everything has been done already... when you produce an art work, or form of expression (be it a painting, a novel, a film, a web design, etc...), chances are, somebody else has done something similar (i.e. genres)... the only way to be original is to borrow bits and pieces of existing work (whether knowingly or not) and spinning a new concoction. the more sources you draw from, the more original you are.
so i say... take a look at 2advanced and widegroup and all the other outstanding sites... and pick up an idea here and there... and combine those ideas with your own into your work...
i think this is good philosophy to subscribe to... it frees oneself from the "guilt" of "borrowing" ideas...
if someone says "it's a jordan rip"... well i say... whatever. everything is a jordan rip. everything is a flashjan rip.
you need not worry about "imitating" mr. jordan because you have not whatsoever. you were merely inspired by him.
I'm not sure if the above statement is just an elaborate chunk of common sense or not... but it's what i think... and it's a lazy sunday afternoon so i'll just write for the sake of writing...
What font is that called that you used?
I want that font..been looking for it..can't find it..
nice effects on the intro....
The font is eurostyle.
sleepy dubya, you're cool. Peace to you or anyone who can come up with the line "the more sources you draw from, the more original you are" - interesting contraption , that one...(that one of yours, or did you gather it from someone elses stockpile? ;)
cheers
Jan
PS - wanna send me a link or two by you?
