About the logo, you mean these two transparent stripes over the logo? It's simple.
First, i made a child movie with moving stripe (half-transparent). Then, i duplicated that child movie but also changed the parameters (speed, loop time, etc.). After that a layer was created containing these two movies. Over that layer I placed the circular mask with size and shape of the original bitmap logo. And that's it! Simple enough and looks great ;) Good luck with these masks!
BTW. I am currently working on another site, where this effect looks even better :)

Makes a great effect for sure.

An idea you might try is, instead of using a solid stripe, at say 50% opacity/transparency, use a gradient fill, and set the first and last colors the same and make them say 10-20% transparent, with a lighter color in the center(white works good) at around 50-65% transparency. This will give it the look of fading gradually over the object beneath it, and eliminates the hard edges.
