My corporate website - learn from it

I've noticed that many of your sites have been of a low quality. I have been designing websites for over 5 years now - and as you would expect I am getting pretty good at it!!

I would advise you to look at my website, it shows how colour imagery and clear navigation can make the difference.

You will notice that it doesn't use Flash - that is because only 22% of people can use Flash sites.

I have been able to provide a design of a far higher quality with (believe it or not) PLAIN HTML!

I'm not knocking beginners when it comes to web development, but honestly, your skills are rather sub par. First and foremost, 92% of browsers used today have a version of Flash installed on them, so I don't know where you're getting your numbers from.

Your graphics are pixelated, the colors are bland, the images have standard "newbie" effects such as large bevels, dark drop shadows, and rough edges.

You come into a forum, probably not knowing proper English and subtext, but you came in rather pompous, like we had something to learn from you. I'm sorry to say but this just isn't the case. Short n sweet, your site is very ugly. The only thing we could learn from you is what NOT to do.

Don't let it get you down though, we all start off new in web development. A lot of people praise me on my web skills now, but as I look back on what I've made, I can see myself getting better. You should do likewise. Next time, come in humble, and ask for opinions for improvements on your site (cause frankly, it needs a complete overhaul...)

I like the way the text over-runs on one of the buttons, nice touch:) I my self am a big fan of the "shoddy-chick" look, and don't understand why everyone is jumping all over you. They must be jealous!!! Well... keep up the "Shoddy" work some day you may suck even more:)

HTML is getting old. The W3C says it'll be replaced by XML.
I suggest you learn how to create web-pages in XML if you don't like Flash. HTML is going to die. I suggest you don't rely on it so heavily.

Maybe there is a new trend taking place before our eyes. The exploration and innovation of many a flash designer has been replaced, what was once old is new again. Ladies and Gentlemen....I present the late 80's web theme.....Yes it's back and better than ever. Rainbow buttons with extra large bevels.....Shadows so rich and dark........Text so blurry, it hurts.........gif animations straight outta of clipart.com....fake metallic buttons, we love to hate......and yes, Javascript for Netscape, that browser blast from the past. This guy may be on to something.......

Oh man I remember how terrible my first site was. I look at it now and I am ashamed. Then I look at your site and I think "hey in comparison, I must be Fantasy Interfaces standards.

Just one more thing... the buttons are FLASH buttons.

The main point of a website is to get content straight across to the user - and if it looks good then that's a bonus. Whatever some of you are saying - my site does load very fast, no Loading signs - and it does look good: it is in the finals for a 2002 website award.

My site has a modern design and those of you who have critised it should surf more and learn their trade.

I could do Flash sites as good as an shown in the Featured section but I don't because Flash doesn't work on most machines (FACT) and very expensive (FAVT) - I mean which everyday website user is going to buy an expensive package like Macromedia Flash just to see someone's animation on a website?

yeah because the plugin used to view the flash content on a website is free for download from macromedia's website. the viewer doesn't have to buy anything. also, look on macromedia's website, almost every internet capable computer has the flash plugin on it.
