mac scroll bar issues with frames ? help

Hi there

I've had to redo a frigin site that for some reason still wants to use frames...aghhhh...if someone could help me understand why this is happening I will give U the phone number to this hottie next door..or mabye my first born..im losing hair over this....aghhhhh..broswer incompatability issues i tell ya :(

It looks great on my PC, but on the graphic designers MAC there are some serious scroll bar issues..and im almost bald and ready to purchase shares in new Rogain IPO next month...

At first i used basic tables to create the site that can be found at

Why does the mac create these huge scroll bar areas when i havent asked them to in the html..aghhhh

also what is the percentage of PC users as to MAC users..is it as high as 87% of all internet users are PC based ? any data would be great to show my friend that we should build it for the majority of web users

I dont know much about MAC, but ive been told a lot of times that HTML frames gets ****ed on MAC. Ive also heard that the solution is using CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) instead. I live in Denmark though and make only HTML-frames-based sites for my danish clients. In Denmark 99% of the Internet users are PC users, so i dont give a damn about learning CSS.

have you tried putting SCROLLING="no" the default attribute for frames is SCROLLING="auto", which lets the browser deside whether to put scroll bars in. Since things may position differently on mac and pc, scroll bars can appear on a mac, while not appearing on a pc..

I am viewing it in OS X and I see the same thing you posted the pictures of. Mac users are not the majority but the amount of designers who own a mac is a very large amount, so when you design you have to allow for all users not just mac or pc. I wish I could tell you why it does that. I spent two days on a killer site, finished, was so relieved and then viewed it on my mac and it went all goofy. I pulled my hair, the same thing you are doing and I had to redo some of the effects in the design. I wish there was something more I could tell you about the mac and why it does it and how to fix it, it's frustrates me as well but actuallly it looks ok both ways, if I was a general user, I honestly wouldn't notice that that scroll bar was not suppose to be there and I know it's frustrating but maybe the average user won't notice?

I am still going to research this though and ask my mod, he is a designer as well and has grown up with mac, I will research this, I want to know myself.
