I think a white background would enhance that alot...Kinda spooky with the black. The design looks great though.
My 2 cents..
Music music music. I think a clam "Soft rock" would do the trick.
On the links, I could not tell they where links. I think they are either to spreed out in the text or something. they just seem out of place. Thinking they are to big might be the problem.
but the rest looks nice.
I'll agree kidda spooky with the black and orange :D
I'm still debating whether to suggest adding a border so it doesn't look 'loose', but something tells me stick to borderless.
Pretty cool, but change the background - I think it doesn't match the photography aspect of the site.
looks a bit sickly to me, nice use of the transvestite though
The black background is the customers choice, I do agree with you all though, but nothing can persuade him to choose otherwise.
It is supposed to be more of a copper color, not orange, that is a little worrying. It does have music on the site, however you have to click the obscure button at top left to get it. I do not like putting MP3 music straight up, all those dial up folks get penalized.
Any ideas on how you can make the links look more like links? I have a mouseover effect and could add a soft click effect as well.
As for transvestites? The couple is my wife and daughter, I did not appreciate the comment.
Get him to change the background it would clean it up so much..
As for the links, try creating some icons instead that would represent the link. You could use the rollover effect to show the text.
Also, I couldn't get the music to turn off once I turned it on. Not sure if you built that in but just an observation.
any suggestions for the background?
everything about the site,, fonts, colors and logo looks late 70's early 80's era
You are correct, the customer loves that, glad I hit the era so well, thank you.
leave the site the way it is - functional and looks decent - the background is fine black - black can give things a clean look. also, a border would be redundant; the browser already has a window. putting a putting a painting in a frame, and then framing that frame is pointless.
good work
Thank you!
I agree.
It looks clean and functional.
I had no problem recognizing the links.
The music button has got to be fixed to toggle the music on and off, not just restart it when clicked.
Music is a two-edged sword.
It can create the perfect atmosphere..., or really annoy the crap out of your visitors.(Especially when they can't turn it off.)
All in all, a nice page. I'm sure your client is happy so far.
Very nice fade-in effects on the photo. It does look alittle spooky at first tho. Kinda gave me the chill feeling of a dead child's ghost appearing.
But that's OK. It makes an impression. The worst thing is to leave NO impression on your visitors.
I look forward to seeing the rest of the site when you get it done.

The world is full of sad and bitter jerks. Their words are like their lives, hollow and meaningless.
I'd be proud to have a beautiful family like yours.
Cheers!
