it is a RIP
:-(
Menus are very much like www.halolounge.com.
I was kinda hoping for a 100% flash site so it bothered that it always loaded the page again. I could scroll up and down from your page by selecting the text and moving mouse up or down which wasn't very cool.
www.derbauer.de
www.fantasyinterfaces.com
Tut tut tut!!!
gee! and you even think nobody would notice it?
and what? is it supposed to be a design studio? or a rip-off studio? man!!
It is a rip...but I really like the 3D robotic look. I think it would be great if you took that and created an all-Flash site without ripping.
So what the buttons are the same.. woopie big doo.. jeesh i think the lay out and the rest is like 90% different than the other sites... so many song artists today do not even change the song 90% they just re sing it.. and just because the music is a little different they get a contract.. chill out peeps.. thats not a rip.. get a clue man.
I think the picture is cool.. i think they layout is good.. yeah you should create some original buttons.. but looks good..
That makes it OK? He obviously ripped a bunch of folks, and you think it's ok cuz everything on the site he actually did himself sux by comparison to the real things. You sir need the clue, and shouldn't be willing to condone this kind of thing.Quote:

the question is: who ripped who out here, was it derbauer.de who first did it or the designers of halolounge.com.
wafi3d: inspiration should not come from other websites, you should look at other things / practices / fields to get your high before designing anything. I don't think it's a negative thing to practice [keyword practice] by copying any other designer's work, just don't show it as yours [or at least give appropriate credits]. Don't be disencouraged by comments here, just go out and practice all you want and when you have something you discovered, then show it. We can tell that you're still a student regardless of your age.
all the best.
well most people think it is ok for an artist to re do songs.. they make it to the top of the chart..
another example .. most singers do not even compose or write their own music.. they just sing..
many people get ideas/inspiration from looking at other web pages.. when your starting out you are trying to figure out all the tings you can do with flash.. so he was probably trying to see how to do those buttons which he thought was cool.. so do not think that he some how just right clicked on them.. if your talking HTML I would totally agree if it was images, as you can just right click and copy.. but in Flash if you want to make something the same you still have to do the code... so even thought the final prodoct is the same you have to give him som credit on being able to do it.. sometimes it takes doing something that you see to learn.. or maybe you forgot that you had to learn flash at one point also..
I am still learning so I like to look at other sites for ideas/inspiration on what I like, but ad different elements..
just remember when someone takes an idea from flash it means they still have to do the code, and i bet his code will not match exactly the code from the other site.. but to me it looks like there a few sites using that button style.
maybe if people would say.. site looks good are you aware that your buttons look like this site.. and maybe his response might be.. yeah I was trying to learn how they did that... or he might even say.. no i was not aware .. people might have similar ideas you know... it does happen .. more often than people realize.. somewhere in the world there were probably many people who thoought about a soda named coke.. but one person made it reality..
Derbauer did Halolounge.......!
This is is crap ! pure rip even down to his, or I should say, Fantasy interfaces logo.
Nice copy cheeseball.....bet you will poo your panties when you get smacked with some copywrite infringment suit. Dumbass
This goes beyond ripping - indeed, the splash page of the site takes buttons and images directly from another. This is blatant copyright violation - a violation of federal law. If I were the original author, I'd get rid of everything right away.
Are you hearing yourselfs.. the guy could not just rip the code from the site.. its flash.. he had to write all the code himself.. and redo the graphics..
maybe he is just trying to re create it.. now if he was trying to sell that website.. I would go with what your saying.. but he is not trying to sell his site... he just wanted to know how it looked..
hell I would not care if someone re created my buttons from scratch.. if they can .. great.. have a blast..
ideas are copied all the time.. coke/pepsi, 7up/sprite,
dolly parton i will always love you, whitney houston i will always love you..
survivor to big brother, to paradise island to 4 love or money, to the amazing race.. same concept different game..
who wants to be a millionaire, weakest link.. bla bla..
Tide with bleach, you name the brand with bleach,
Downey liquid fabric softner, you name the brand liquid softner..
as you can see in all aspects of life.. people take things they see and like and re create them in a little different format.. are all those things a rip?
im a littel confused about this... what does it have to do with the discussion?Quote:
Take a look at the splash page graphics. for downloading Netscape, IE, Flash, etc. Those are complete copies from Velocity Studio - violating the copyright of Velocity. I mean, you are right about Sprite and 7UP, but they do NOT copy each other's logos or images.
not unless someone from velocity was involved with that siteQuote:

I don't get what you mean...visit Velocity Studio, and at the bottom it reads "All Images (c) Copyright 2001 Velocity Studio. All rights reserved." The Pascal Studio website copied the exact images from Velocity, except they changed the Site Requirements image to grayscale. Since Velocity owns the copyright, Pascal needs to get rid of it.Quote:

Under § 504, any copyright violator can be ordered to pay "a sum of not less than $750 or more than $30,000 as the court considers just."
Again, I suggest that you remove anything that could be taken as a violation of a copyright. But, it's up to you.
Hahahahha. Dood your like Vanilla Ice. "no my beat go's dun dun dun dada dun dun" David Bowies go's dun dun dun dun da da da dun dun".

I talk to Velocity Studio and they had nothing to do with that riped site!
And the girl with the flashing lights came from shadowness.com
