OK, i'm officially getting a little worried about this young lady - she's starting to look like a carolina girl. the current track takes her right into charleston - well, maybe...we'll know for sure by monday. there doesn't appear to be any weather systems that are going to make her move north or south.

i thought i would start this thread, as she is bound to affect a lot of people from florida up to virginia. let's just hope she takes a quick turn north in the next couple of days...right now, it doesn't look good.

That's a cool shot.

If you look at the cloud formations, you can see that she's affecting the weather patterns for the whole N. Atlantic.

I hope that thing misses me. It looks pretty big.

the last category five (mitch - 1998) killed 11,000 people in central america.

bah just close your huricane shutters and grab a case a beer. that is what i did when hurricane Irene visited me on my honeymoon.

lol - it took me 22 hours to get to spartanburg. 11 hours just to get from mount pleasant to summerville (normally a 20 minute drive). that evacuation was an amazing experience to look back on - although it was total hell while going through it....

Is there any further news on this? One of my staff is going to Florida on holiday on Saturday for two weeks - How am I going to get my mickey mouse hat if this takes a turn for the worse?

Did he get the insurance that comes with alot of the reservations you can make, such as hotel and all? I know that the hotel I stayed at offered weather insurance, such as if there is a hurricane, you can leave without risking the loss of a deposit, and you got a hotel room at a later date for no charge.

I hope they got the insurance policy.

Well, seeing as we work for a US insurance giant, I sorted him out with a good deal - I just really want the mickey mouse hat! ;)
