PS: Call me crazy, but I really want to do it. Anyone with a private airplane? :D
The airforce reserve flies a c-130 over the eye. maybe you can contact them. Ask for the Hurricane Hunters
just go up to north carolina and wait for the eye to come to you :)Quote:

Some guys is supposed to sky dive from sub orbital altitude soon. I think he's still working on his space-jump suit right now. Not quite sure. That will be pretty intense...
Just heard on the radio WV is going on state of emergency as of 6 am tomorrow/thursday morning.
I didnt think it would affect this state with all the mountains and all but they where saying how we will get very bad winds and real heavy rain but ive not really seen anything on the news for WV and i dont have my tv in my offiec either so im not sure what the latest news on WV is.

Anyone in NYC - if you haven't checked/heard yet, visit www.ci.nyc.ny.us/html/oem or call 311 to see whether you live in a flood zone.
(apparently we are!)
good luck and stay dry :D

*Tristate area braces for tons of rain and wind*

If anything touches my car... grrr...
Just wanted to say..
anyone in the path of 'Issabelle' take care and keep your head down (unless your in the flood zone, which case keep it up, )
hey, i'm down here in SC on the southern side -- and it's beautiful. we have sunny, sunny skies. you can see izzy off to the north - very impressive. about once every 2 hours one of her bands comes high across the sky, arching from horizon to horizon. i hope you all are fairing well up north - it should be over by tonight....
where are you?Quote:

I'm in DC and most places are shut down up here. I'm seriously wondering why, because I don't think that DC is going to get hit hard at all. I think it's just an excuse for all our lazy government workers to take the day off. There's a lot of fear mongering going on, people rushing to the store buying up canned food and flashlights. It's pretty funny.
lol@visionray! it's funny how people inland overreact, while people on the coast underreact. you could still have some tornados, so watch out!
nc and se va are loosing power. I think we are on back up generator here.
lol yea I know. Up here we have half the population hiding in fallout shelters, while down in NC people are running around the beach. It's almost as if people up here just want it to come, just for the excitement, so they too can wear one of the "I survived Hurricane Isabel" t-shirts. :DQuote:

Just REALLY windy in the tristate area right now.
I like it. It's always really neat the way the weather is right before a hurricane. Or any storm, at that.
I'm not to worried. We are gonna get alot of rain, but that's about it. And we're used to that.
Power was out for the past hour and some. It's really windy but it's not raining all too hard.
