Monk,
I like it. That is the wood block print of the wave and mount Fuji. (I forget the name of the piece)
Very creative use of the mirror from darkness' image. I also like the "bling" look of the boat and the other textures. Nice work!
I may have to take a crack at next. I have an idea...

cheers buddy, wish i coulda spent more time one it to be honest. that boats really bugging me.

LMAO off nice one groupof1

I agree, it looks much better.

I think so too Darkness... It makes her appear to be approaching the mirror. Which (I think) is what you were going for.

I really like this Juju. Made me laugh. Reminds me of seeing commercials when I was a kid and saying "I want a Cutout Pimp!" My kids do that stuff now.
The only thing I might change is the placement or scale of the "entrance edition" text. It looks like it wants to be part of the diorama, even though I know it isn't. It looks like you bumped it down so as not to cover the text on the back of the board. I think that by moving it back up (with the overlap) it would add more depth to the pic.

have not battled in a long time, have not opened up photoshop in months. be warned. :cap:

thanks groupof1, i wanted to put the title at the bottom right but it'd cover the guy. when i moved it on top it'd cover the background text. in the end i wanted to show the background text so viewer could see the meaning of 'entrance edition' so i moved the title down a little. but i do feel the same that looks a bit strange...
squidlips, better start open and get back to photoshop!! at the moment everything is out of place, face and body are totally different hue, and flat. kids shadow is opposite from background's shadows (if kid's shadow is caused by the fire he would have another shadow from the sun in the other direction as well) .. just to name a few. but yea, i was warned..:)

Thought I would make a move on this since things have been a little quiet.
(Actually, I have been pretty busy myself! Ugh!)
Anyway, thought I would darken the mood a bit. (sounds funny doesn't it)

peek-a-boo!
i really liked your image groupof1, not 100% on the typography, maybe something a little more subtle/small with the white behind it would make it pop a bit more. the girl looks like the came from a lower resolution stock however i kinda like the flatness to her, it really pulls the eye up. on another flat note...

Thanks Squidy. I had a hard time with the girl. The main stock is great but has an odd angle/perspective to it. It was difficult to make the girl blend into the scene. She also had no shadow so I had to add all that. The "low res" feel is probably from me over working her.
I chose that font because of the sharpness and protrusiveness of the W and V, to imply something... well, sharp and protrusive.

awesome guys. glad to see you're keeping the dust off this place :D

i see you!

a bit slapdash, thought it was an interesting look tho.

I like this a lot. it gives me the impression of torn paper, like a collage.
I also like the see no evil... idea.
