"but seriously, macromedia is really working on a flash version with 3d modelling features =)"
Tell us more ( Unless it's a wind-up ) !
Gotta a cheeky little feature list to share ? Even if it is only very beta atm.
Squize.
PS. I know you're a beta tester for MM, but I didn't know you'd get cool stuff so soon :)
Okies,i understand that its hard to believe one after all those hoaxes, but well,i have proof (hope i donīt get thrown out of the beta program for showing this, but i donīt think so,at the end its no bad for mm that i tell it ;) )Quote:

You may know that mm is working on flash related stuff like flex and brady specifically targeted towards coders working on RIAs with flash frontend, therefore the next flash version itself will have more features for the designers, here just some of them:
-loading gifs and pngs at runtime
-load fonts at runtime
-duplicate movieclip works with target
(you can duplicate mcs on the stage into mcs inside another timeline for example)
-much better player performance
-better sound control (pitch,equalizer)
-native scriptable bitmap distortion
-open gl/glide/d3d support
-javascript support (just as in the newest director you can code in javascript and combine that with actionscript seamlessly)
-rotating objects around all axes (also z axis rotation when using tweening)
-two new tools:
3d rotation/extrude tool (work just like in the newest freehand )
-stage can be splitted up into four views for editing, objects have depth and z property, can be accessed/influenced on the stage and by code

that engine has been out for years, just ask jobe makar he designed one few years ago.
:yikes: :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:
[edit] arrow, your a little less gifted in the brains section! (read a post before you post!)[/edit]
Wow! That's looking sex.
I'm guessing that's the Flash sN that I've heard is floating around ?
I know your hands are a bit tied Tom cause of the NDA, but seeing how you've spilled your guts so far ;) Is it true that it's going to be AS2 only ?
Squize.
I hope they will include som propper mic and web cam stuff, like recording sounds and video. and maybe bytecode transfer. that wouldbe awsome.
ArrowFlash, stop beeing an idiot
yes seems so. and i heard that they will finally allow directx support (joystick)Quote:

Hey Tom,

I thought this stuff couldn't be posted like this... are you sure MM is not going to kick you out of their betatest program ?
Lapo
PS: Anyway I don't think you're the first who has seen this screenshot before ... ;-)
oh f*ck me this is april fools jokes here. you guys rock... both of you got me.
in the first beta you could still code in AS1 and i heard theyīd like to keep downwardcompatibility, but iīm not sureQuote:

maybe i shouldnīt have posted all that news right now,but well,it was so hard keeping it a secret all the time..
its just so good, gives game developers and designers so much new possibilities,
its my dream version of flash =)
Hmmm, the B.S. flies here at FlashKit :). At FlashForward, Macromedia announced the direction of Flash in the future. According to Peter Lynch, the authoring environment won't be getting any love for a while. I seem to remember they were going to release an update soon but any big changes were quite a ways out. Nice try Tom, very impressive.
look all i can say is im getting one of these
http://www.thinkgeek.com/stuff/41/habicase.shtml
Tom, you know MM is gonna come down on you like a ton of bricks! i'd delete the post ASAP. i heard those guys got really bad laywers. get rid of it or you'll be payin for it for a long long time man. this is EXACTLY why we all had to sign the NDA!
look at the length of my nose :p
hey there all,as some already noticed, its been a group april 1st hoax :)
thanks to squize, blink and ngfx for taking part and also to lapo for featuring the breaking news on gotoandplay.it =)
hope mm only implements half of the features we listed in the next flash, then iīll be in heaven :D
also hope everyone had a little fun with it and i donīt get smashed too badly for it ;)
:D ... me too !! :DQuote:

Hey, these are some great ideas for Flash. I am forwarding them to the flash team.
Btw, how did you get that screenshot of the 3dF project? That is supposed to be super secret.
;)

yeah, that picture,..erm,..well,..hm,..i wonder that you donīt know (and even more,)iīm not sure if i should tell it here, but well,as iīve already shown it...
you have to press the help tab in flash mx professional 2004 and there press the "about flash professional" button (it only works in the professional version, not in the normal flash mx 2004),a window will pop up in which you see some specs about flash and its development team and a "MX" writing on the upper right.you have to click the lower center of the "x" of that writing with your mouse (its really tricky, you have to click the exact point where the two parts of the x meet),there you go =)
seriously, thanks a lot for replying here mike, its awesome to have the feeling that the company who creates the applications you work most with (and like best) has an open ear for the wishes of their customers =)
(and on top of that that you like the ideas we brainstormed on =) )
even better to see that mm is also crowded with friendly guys open for a giggle =)
(sorry if it sounds like iīm brown-nosing you,its just the truth :) )
For a doom like environment (3D) in flash just visit this website. It's in German, but go to the .FLA section and select the following fla : RAYCAST ENGINE. It was made in FlashMX2004 using AS2!
It's no dream guys ... check it out.
