Age doesent matter.

There is a 14 ear odl girl singer(amazing voice)

A 14year old boy professional soccer player(AMazing also)

And of course who cant forget about Ed-Mack form the Flashkit
Fourms he was 14 and he was amoderator and an amazing helper on flash programming( and of course amazing at it.)

So im 15, And of ocourse me who knows quite a bit o Flash alot of Amazing Artwork, and not only that i have used C++(been learning and reading it) and php, html, java,javascript.

Anwyays dont matter just another shout out.

Notice that the true experts on this site (and others) don't post how good they are at various things? I've always found that interesting. The people that know the most don't feel the need to tell everyone how much they know. This is just a pointed suggestion to those of you looking to impress people here. As in all things, actions speak louder then words.

Im not really saying spelling makes a large difference, everyone makes mistakes and noone is perfect but have a conversation includes a trust that needs to be developed. In person, body language is a good signal of whats up. Online you dont have this, so you have to base your impression on maturity and how someone handles themselves.

Someone takin l1ke dis 1snent g0nna giv a good impreson. (i know thats kinda exagerated but people are out there. I a m not linkin this to this case, just in general)

Maybe this is a stretch or its just me. I would just rather align myself in more trustworthy people. I guess people who say that everyones too professional is right but in this day in age, **** happens and people need to watch what and who they deal with.

I dont care much about the impression I leave because of my simple use this board because its a cool comunity. I dont intend to work seriously with flash nor apply for any jobs around here. Its simply an old habit and my last flash project is still running...

first off can we just say that it isnt really age that matters its maturity, now can we all agree that maturity comes with age?

second if anyone ever calls football 'soccer' again i wont be responsible for my actions, we here in England invented a little game called football, not soccer. also freddy adu is only playing professionally in USA because he is too young to play anywhere else, oh and because the american quality of FOOTBALL is at about the level of the semi professional leagues here in England. (right lets get back to the topic).

i am quite amazed by the amount of 'im not old and i can tie my own shoelaces' statements by many of the young people here, i didnt say you had to be over the age of 18 to be a good coder, i was merely pecimistic about the credentials of lil jay because of the amount of half termers weve had on here more or less asking people to make entire games for them. if you are young and you know some coding languages, fine good for you, i wish i had been enlightened about the coding practices when i was your age, if i had been i would be an expert coder across the board by now, i hope that after my little rant we can put this young versus older dispute to bed, i am however not going to apologise for any offense i may of caused the youth of this forum and for any wrong sterotyping i may have labeled certain people with (lil jay being one), but i will however finish with a nice little number called 'bah bah black sheep...', joking, just joking you younguns:D

i'd just like to say to everyone i'm 2 yrs old, i been programming since one, much experience in java,c++,actionscript etc, made many games the original zelda and final fantasy.........

i don't think it matters how good you think you are, as long as you're able to make some money off it, or to inflate your head whicheva

I understand where you're coming from, but i still have some problems with what you're saying.

For one, i know some 8 year olds that are much more mature than any of my friends :rolleyes: Maturity, can really come at any age, it depends on more things that just age. You cant just outright say "I'm more mature than you because i'm older than you". Its not necessarily true

We call it soccer, because some idiot (blame an american :eek: oops did i say that :D ) made another sport called football, played with hands (i believe youve probably heard of it) And therefor, to differentiate we call it soccer, though its original* name is football.

*not very original if you ask me.. you hit the ball with your foot, foot ball... someones creative :rolleyes:

Finally, i kind of provoked all those statements of age, with my little rant. Every time i was told "you have recieved an email from flashkit" i thought to myself "oh dear, another person showing off their age"... Anyways... enough talking.. (i guess its typing) from me

Point is, age doesnt matter, its experience and i totally agree that its also maturity. Oh and determination. I lacked that when i started, almost stopped me from flashing (not the kind you do to old ladies).

i really dont want to get into an argument about FOOTBALL, yes the name is not original but it makes bloody sense, it kinda makes me laugh the way that americans will always say 'we have this game called football and we need to differentiate between the two sports', well why bloody call a game that only requires you to use your foot from kick off, field goals and punts FOOTBALL (were they really that stupid or just ignorant, 'oh that little english game wont last because weve created a mans game,), well its not a mans game, womens hockey is more manly and we have a game called rugby that obviously americans are too scared to play, i apologise if i seem a little racist but arsenal are playing today and i seem to always turn into my alter ego (the evil one) when they play.

i will say that i agree with you that some 12 year olds i know i more mature than some 15 year olds, hell i was more mature than 15 year olds when i was ten, but i am much more mature now, so in a nutshell 'maturity comes with age', it may come later or earlier depending on upbringing but it still happens later in life, i dont see any 10 year olds wearing slippers and playing bridge, do you?

i suppose i just get annoyed at some people who just show off with the fact that they are 13 and they have had 3 years coding experience, well if i had known about these languages and programs like dev cpp or flash i would have learnt them at the age of 5 and written a book about it by the age of 7 (alright slight exaggeration), it to me also doesnt matter if you have had 5 years experience or 1 year with AS, its how you used the time that you had, so just to finish up i will say that there are many factors that make peope good flashers (lol), now lets all get back to making games shall we.:D
