Im serious OpenGL would be cool for flash 6. Think about it if OpenGL was integrated that means OpenML the multimedia would be allowed and your .av .mov and mpeg could be in your flash. Also I bet the people who make games with flash would find the OpenGL would be refreshing and give them a new look. Also Directx could also be involved to help which would make games on flash be more alive. Hey I dont have a problem if you could play a flash version quake online with other, I think it would be cool!!!!
- I would like to see an easier to use Help file. Put it in english that normal knuckleheads can understand...like me! :) Describing Actionscripts a little better as well. I'm still lost on some of them.
- Text Animation capabilities within Flash 6 like Swish or FlashTyper.
- Picture resize editing more user friendly. Flash 5 has it when you change the size, it leaves the original there and you have to move...delete...move back...and see if that's the size you want.
- Cool 3D animation creation tools. I have yet to find them. If they're in the program of Flash 5...I don't know where or how to use them. I'm tired of switching between programs to make a picture and going back. I guess I'm lazy?
That's all...I think.
It has been more or less impossible to synchronize sounds properly in Flash, for as long as it has existed. With the new Sound objects, I had hoped that this would become possible, but no.
If it were possible to synchronize loops of equal length, then you would be able to take a bunch of loops and fade them up and down over time to create something a bit closer to real background music. Simply having a looping piece of music on every webpage gets so incredibly boring.
Ofcourse, what would be even cooler, was if MacroMedia would take the full step, and incorporate an MO3 player. Ian Luck provides a free encoder for MO3 files, and a player library for windows:
http://www.un4seen.com/music/
For those who know what XM, IT and MOD files are, MO3 files are basically mods where the samples have been packed using MP3 ... a good piece of mod music takes up something like 250-500 KByte ... the same files with MO3 compression take up 25-50 KByte, making them extremely suitable for use on the internet - download in seconds would become possible.
No matter what, music should definitely be the next big thing incorporated into Flash ... by now, we have excellent scripting opportunities, we can create stunning graphics, animation and interactivity - the only thing still lacking badly is music ... you can't dazzle the audience with a short, looping piece of music - no matter how good it is, it WILL get annoying to hear the same loop over and over again, and given the opportunity, most users will disable background music after a few loops.
So please, MacroMedia! Give us music! In a compact, streaming format ... it could be loop-based (it's hardly any work to program) and include just the basic, low-load effects like panning, filtering and delay ...
On a final note, don't waste your time with MIDI support - it's useless ... there are too many different MIDI synthesizers out there to predict the results on each browser with any useful propability. Forget MIDI. I don't hope that's what you're planning? ;)
Hey guys and gals...
A question: How hard would it be to get the nice folks at macromedia to make the highlighting of timeline frames possible with the arrow keys and the shift tab?
This is something I have been wondering about...
If flash 6 can do this I will be thrilled
cheers:)
I think that It shoul be free - call me crazy but i do :)

This is the most important thing!
but Back / Forward buttons that traced your movements through movie levels would be nice
Quite simple:
Build in Motion Guides into every layer, so that no "Guide Layer" needs to be added.
Then, when adding a motion tween, a guide is automatically placed as a bezier curve above - initially as a straight line of course.
The beauty part is, that the guide will not be needed for all anims, but when it's built in, it will not only be easier to use, it will be so easy to use that most animations will look better.
The ability to use externally referenced image files.
Similar to Loadmovie in location, I want load image in location - dynamic Flash sites without generator...
Flash 6 needs to be totally in sync with 5, my old Flash 4 stuff did not like Flash 5 very much and there were several errors.
Hi there,
Being a professional sound engineer working for a company in the UK that produces radio, tv and all manner of advertising Jingles and stings, I would really like to see better support for sound within Flash. More effects, ability to use parts of a sound instead of whole sound, tight integration of loops to keep all in time together, MIDI support and perhaps Flash could even integrate some sort of audio synthesizer within flash with built in sounds like MIDI that you could create your own sounds for and create dazzling music with low overhead costs.
Oh well I'm sure whatever Macromedia comes up with shouldn't be all that bad. They've done pretty well so far!
Mark Bowen
a quality 3d engine..
Whheeellll it seems obvious to me, flash 6 should have (like Dreamweaver) a Nice little ability to make plug ins! or even macros. Far too often i'm stuck doing some monotinous as heck thing, that could be soo much faster if i could write a plug in for it. anyway.. there my input. for what its worth.. or not worth...
Hi everybody
What I would like to see in Flash 6 is a 3d engine and the integration of Swish. Another thing is the interface of Flash 4 concerning gradients.
This is what I have to say at this moment...
Howzabout being able to 'Control-click' multiple items in the library window and having a 'move items to existing folder' menu option (currently you can only do this for a 'new folder'). Would sure beat scrolling up and down to find the folder, then dragging everything into it (after having dropped your multiple selections at least twice in searching for the folder).
I sound like a broken record but...
1.) An output window that behaves more like Director's
2.) An actionscript window, that behaves more like Director's
***4.) Microsoft ASF/ASX format support for streaming live media with Flash content....thought I can't think of a good use for it at the moment.
A 3D engine that will allow you to import 3D files created in other programs.
I liked the actionscript interface in flash 4 better, but I guess with the additions to actionscript in flash 5, there probably isn't a way to go back to that.
A non-html help file. It would be much easier if we could search for topics.
Tutorials on more advanced topics.
Jaime :)
I NEED A 'SEARCH'-OPTION THAT SEARCHES ALL ACTIONS IN A WHOLE MOVIE FOR A SPECIAL EXPRESSION OR KEYWORD USED -NOT ONLY ONE KEYFRAME!!
-Additionally, it'd be great to search for VARIABLE NAMES to appear throughout a movie (and I don't mean the crappy built-in debugging functionality!)
-Remove all the Mac-style floating panles with their miniature buttons and sliders (that reduces my working speed to almost the half!!)
-And (to say it again and again): BETTER PERFORMANCE!!!
Mike
1) Support for loading JPG. PNG images just like loading variables
2)Actionscript code window is great but should have code wrap around. so that we don't have keep a massive wide actionscript window for long codes.
3)I don't see many people complaining about it but I am gonna do it. The colour palette in Flash 5 sucs. Flash 4 colour selection was better. easier.
well thats it for now
It may seem a bit silly but I think a paintbrush would be extreamly helpful. Fully adjustable of course
