Nicely done - But I would center the page.
i had the same thought. its done. anyone else care to comment?
hmmm...
don't know what to say... too simple...
WBWD,
Thanks for the feedback. Can you provide some suggestions on how to spice her up a bit? Thanks.
Nathan
I like the layout, though I'd suggest using #A1BEFF (light, grayish blue) instead of that ccc... light gray, think it would spice it up a bit (I'm not 100% sure, it's just a hunch)
I don't like those scrolling previews in the portfolio section, they don't make me want to click them, think you should go with thumbnails on that, or even better, focus on the details (dolphins in the hawaiian, diver in the pacific, arrow in the consulting, film role...)
Don't animate them though.
Definitely put that kid up first, it's an eye-catcher.
It's not simplicity that's bad, but rather lack of contents - don't just use the work you've sold, you must have some experiments you did for kicks & think are cool - display that also.
And the last suggestion - that flash right to the navigation should have an image on its right side - something masked, fading to black, maybe even the whole background.
It's not a bad site, just needs spicing up.
Chero,
Muchos gracias. Thats good feedback, i really appreciate it. I agree with your comments, especially about the lack of contents. Unfortunately this is pretty much all i have to display as of right now. I havent yet had any paying clients, this is all the things ive been tinkering with. But i do plan to add more as soon as i can. The flash i think is not exciting, i do plan on changing it quite a bit. In the portfolio area I think i want to redesign the entire area, im not really fond of how large ive made the animated thumbnails compared to the size of the text ive placed next to them. Youre right about the animations. Again, thanks for the response....
this is a few days old, but in ur gallery sections, i would loose the popups. they get to be annoying and alot of people have a popup blocker so they may not be able to see it....its the risk u take using that effect. on ur resume, i would def add a downloadable PDF version of u site so clients/companies can print out ur resume. and the color scheme IMO looks like the american flag :( try lookin at this site for color schemes http://www.colourlovers.com/index.cf...ettes&view=all
hope this helps
Tracy
If you got rid of the blue at the top and made it red, black or grey to match the rest of the page, then the whole thing would look FAR more professional.

maybe try more animations, more cool effects, and i would definitely change thoes buttons ( don't know why but i just don't like them, they look too basic )...
btw, did you ever thing about making the whole site in flash ? I like the HTML site's too but somehow i'm getting bored of them...
if you need help, then contact :D
Thanks to everyone for contributing. I will be altering the site soon and will take everyones advice into consideration. As for making the whole site in Flash: Ide like to someday do an extension of my site in Flash, but I personally feel that it is a bit more advantageous for me to learn all aspects of website design and to not limit myself to Flash. Im currently looking to land a position with a design company and from what ive seen, the most of them care more if you know JavaScript, PHP, CSS, etc. I do love Flash, I just feel that it takes quite a commitment and alot of time to learn, and my time is better focused elswhere at right now. Again, thank you everyone....
too simple - i mean the same, something miss

I just have to agreee with wbwd... Too simple...
There is nothing that really tells me "Wow! Now, that guy could do a site for me!" if you understand what I mean...
Besides, try to avoid two or more "flag colors" in the same space... Black, blue, red, white, all equally predominant... Kills the whole thing! Make up your mind and give one of the colors the front row seat...
Maybe you could add something to the header, along the right half... I don't know, maybe even a random image, so users get a different pic every time they visit the page. That could make them wanna come for more...
