This is a four round bracketed tournment in which each round players will be paired together and given the same stock image. From this image each person will design an image of some sort and submit it in this thread. Once the images are submitted, Flashkit members will vote using the poll on a winner for each pairing who will advance to the next round.

The rounds will go from 10 pairings to 5 pairings, resulting in 5 remaining players. After that, the 5 remaining players will compete head to head and the two players with the most votes will compete in a final match to decide the winner.

IMAGE RULES:

-Some element of the image given must be used
-Images must be 700px by 400px
-Horizontal or vertical orientation
-Both players in a pairing start from same image
-Rotation allowed


VOTING:

-All members are encouraged to vote
-A multiple choice poll will allow you to vote for as many options as you wish. So, in round 1, vote on 5 choices since 5 pairings are listed.
-Due to the limits of the polls, we need to create 2 threads with 10 people in each thread. So vote 5 times in this one and 5 in the other


THE PAIRINGS:

Pairings are based on the number of posts the user has in flashkit forums. This is the fairest way i could think to rank people. sorry if it isnt fair

Me! So I can get my arse kicked and cry. However, I don't really like the idea of just posting an image... i believe each pair should be given a stock image to work from... it'd make voting oh so much easier.

i'd say a different image would be necessary.

i think we need an official image giver.

totally agree with fruitloops, a common stock image for each vs-pair would make voting alot easier

wow. thats a lot of people so far. i am excited. we aleady have over 16 people so i am thinking we shoot to get 32. a lot of the people involved with the rollCanvas havent signed up so i am sure we can get some from there.

uh oh, looks like no one else is signing up...if this keeps up, you should start the tourney with the 1st 16 players that signed-up, just to get this rollin'

well, we could go for 24...that just adds another round for the winners

to make the brackets easy, you can't do 24 and keep it fair (same # of rounds for each person).
you have to do 16 or 32 or 64.

i'll try to get people from the rollCanvas. if not, we can do 16 or have the last people to join play an extra round to narrow it down to 16

i'd say we start with 16. if it works, then go again for a 32 players comp.

Okay, we have 20 now.

We could do this. Start with 10 battles, then 5 for the next round, and then have the 5 winners play off the same image for the final decision.

Or ... we could have the last 8 that signed in battle for the last 4 spots in the tournament.

worst comes to worst you could run it on a 32 then just give first round byes to the top seeds (those who signed up first i supose?) ...just an idea.

We can do something like that.

10 battles -> 5 battles -> the last 5 people battle and the top two face off in a last battle to decide the winner

If someone wants to volunteer to select the images for the first round, we can start Monday. I will select them if nobody wants to (but we can get someone to select the one for my match so it is fair)

id like to try my hand in a ps battle count me in.

I'll get the starting round images ready and the pairings. Expect to start monday with the first images due on wednesday.



EDIT: I am going to have to start two new threads for this, one for the first 10 people and one for the group of 10. Once the tournment gets going i will delete this thread.

ok. the tournment is up. images should be up in an hour or two. this thread will be gone by tommorow.

you might want to leave this thread for comments, what not.
