Nice first post...it'll give me alot to work with. I'll see what i can come up with tomorrow (Sunday).
Oh, and one more thing that i'd like to add to the rules...could we not use any text that's corny? Like, "I'm comin to get you Silver" (check back to our last battle and some of the lame things we had written).
The text should go right along with the image, like your first post here (if there is text to be included)
we have both grown up alot since the last one.. but that did ruin my plans for another goonies poster;) j/k rules sound good
Very cool image silver. Great concept, the layout is done very well, the only thing I would say is to work on your typography. I know that's a weakness of mine as well and it's really hard to teach or learn but in some cases it can make or break an image. Anyway, i'm diggin your image man. I'm sure you two will destroy your previous battle, this will be fun to watch.
yeah my typography is rough, soon as i get some more fonts, and a little better grasp or brush use and ill be doing good;)
For type, I would honestly suggest looking at modern advertisements - mind you, I'm close to the point where I'm going to stop using text in my images - and ESPN magazine. There are some other magazines out there that feature killer type combos, but ESPN just has consistently gotten it right.
Cool gerbs, i'll keep that in mind, and look at some ESPN mags.
Maxim is pretty good at stuff like this too, too bad I don't have a really really hot chick to pose for me to take pics of every night (other than my g/f...i'd feel guilty for not adding this)
lefteyewilly gets a cheap pop from the female crowd at flaskit for that one;)
thanks for the tip gerbs ill check that out.
Hey, I'm gonna have to get back to this battle Tuesday, I'll have something up then.
sounds good
This could possibly be the worst image i've ever posted here. I just wanted the battle to move.

as always, open to any comments
ok, i have an idea, but its incredibly lame and sloppy, im apologizing in advance. ill make it sometime tomorow because today im way to busy
ok this is my first time using brushes extensivly, this image is so bad, and it woulda been a little better if i didnt have ot use a piece of the last image but rules are rules;)
yeah other hten the guy its alright i suppose just toaly bizzare
also its 9 pixels to big:(

Dude, that's not a bad image at all. I think the brush work isn't bad either. The leaf looks really good.
While the image is good, I do think the biggest problem is composition. I don't think all the parts fit together as well as I think they should.
But all in all, pretty good, espcially seeing my last volley wasn't very good to work with.
yeah its really wierd, kinda just played around and it looked neat, then threw the guy in and now its kinda like his falling fomr the sky holding onto a giant leaf to survive.
ah who am i kidding... lol
the leaf was stock from http://www.sxc.hu/ everything else was brushwork
yeah no more snowboarding for me, i def made that 91 pixels to thin.. sorry bout that willy
No problems with the size issue, as long as it wasn't noticably different/unworkable.
with the explanation, the image really makes sense, and i can see where you were going with it.Quote:

but if you have motion in the image, you should apply it to those things that are moving, like if it's the leaf, you should have smudged the water droplets so they look like there in motion (adding physics to the image). With out your explanation, i couldn't tell if the guy was coming up through the clouds or falling.
haha, i was just trying to justify the total randomness
