okay, you asked for it:
label your navigation.
i don't know what green means, or if yellow is contact on your site and yellow is portfolio on someone else's.
i have enough suspense wondering what's floating in my beer. leave the guessing out of navigation.

the navigation is confusing. it needs a different concept. someone not web saavy would get frustrated - like a potential employer. some of the color schemes or layouts look a little dull. more like the color schemes have that dull look. the layouts are decent though i take that back. good luck with it though.
The looks aren't bad at all!
You should work on the preloader, make something more entertaining.

yea, that nav is no good. i sat there looking at 4 dots waiting for something to happen for 15 secs... then i finally clicked on something, and something happened....
there is actually a term for this Mystery Meat Navigation
plus it moves around too much,,, too much work for me... sorry.
layouts/graphics look good though....
i'm have a bit of trouble keeping the 'simplicity' look down... any ideas that would correlate with the design? (i want it to change as each page changes)

Well it looks like you got blasted for the navigation already, But I will make a point about it any way. The navigation is bad in my opinion, but if your message is that you don’t want people to know where they are going by all means do so I’m sure you will have a very successful site... It’s illegal to use music you don’t have the rights to. That giant black stroke around a lot of the interface makes me want to peel my own skin off with a cocktail fork :eek:
If I were you I would work on some sort of a transition to unbuild the current view and then build the next. I would also find a more tasteful way to present any of your photography; the way a picture is presented or framed can make or break it in the end.
It’s an artist site, apparently the other people that read web pages that suck didn’t pay very close attention. The book isn’t really meant to develop a standard it’s just meant to point out the distasteful and sometime embarrassing things many business site designers do. Your site is a personal portfolio therefore it should display your own personal flare! It does just that I really would'nt ask you to change much just try to make the navigation a bit more obvious. Keep it moving keep it artistic and your portfolio will be sure to do well.
In the end its fresh and catching, all it needs is a good spit shine, and for gods sake get rid of the freaking web cam nobody cares web cams were so 1990's ;) .

Not sure whats different from before but I like the navigation. The design is quite original , but i think its limiting what and how you can show stuff.
My only gripe is that I hate full screen websites but thats a personal gripe.
