[BETA]Honey-Punch - Fight for your Honey

Hello lovers of Wacky Flashgames!
We released today a demo of a small project we're currently working on.

Honeypunch is a old school beat'em up sidescroller. This funny game was made in the style of old sidescrollers to bring back the retro feeling to all the older game lovers out there, but developes it's own game mechanics and charme.

The controlls are very easy.
Use the arrow keys to move.
Space is for Punch.
B is for Block

It has an offline Highscore too ;)

Fullscreen kills it :(

Agreed. The graphics are sweet, but fullscreen takes the quality away. The game plays well, its fresh and pro, but i cant help feeling that it starts to become just a hold forward and mash space game. because there are only 2 moves it starts to lack somthing after a while. Not sure what happens later, but some funny insect like wepons would be nice...nectar cannon, stinger etc.

Other than this though, the game is obviously very pro and well made. one of the best looking games ive seen in a while. Keep it up.

If you jsut hold forward and maks the space button you lost. It will not work. You have to avoid the obstacles and counterblock the punches of the enemys ;) ..

Nice game. Nice graphics/sfx/music but I think you can definatly work more on the fighting system. :)

If is not a secret ... what framerate/resolution did you had in flash ?

Yes we use SWFXXL, its a cheep way to make it fullscreen. But Zinc is a lot better, but cost much more.
320x240 like the screenshots, running of 32 fps

Better... hmmm... idea is that is in kids style... you keep pressing space until you hurt your fingers.

I guess would be nice to be more to be handled ... to cary/drop things ... and to aim anemy / to throw something in them

Punching has no big acuracy

currently you have no chance when you do "button mashing" .. and that is good so.
The problem with add weapons to the maychar is that we have to add also weapons for the other enemys. and rewrite the whole AI.

Since you asked for it :)
1) Faster punches, you can keep the same system, only turn down the timers and increase the total health, that should serve as a great frenzy.

2) Hold down punch button for 3 seconds for super upper-cut

3) Increase the acceleration and deacceleration for better control of our BEE and also of the other enemies,

Much faster, more stuff to do and more user-friendly.

Yea this is what i was trying to say. You need more veriety. The game is great, but it needs alternate moves and combos etc to make it more interesting. I didnt mean i could get through the game by just mashing space, but the game just made me feel like doing that as there was no reward for choosing what key to press (other than getting further in the game).

The game is fun for a short time. The graphics don't look up to date. 320x240 zoomed to fullscreen on a 19" or 21" monitor looks really blocky and pixelated. Maybe a window is a better solution. I think it needs a lot more depth to be bought by someone.

jebrael ... i window so small is not fun... on 1600 or 1200 resolution or 1280 x 1024

Players are having 1024 x 768 and still that window is to small

The window was just an idea. It would be a better solution to increase the resolution of the game to at least 640x480. Then the graphics would look much more detailed and better. But I guess this will produce to much work. Maybe also the algorithms for scrolling etc. don't work that fast then anymore.

Yesh, mybe later for flash8 ;) .. and repaint the whole graphix .. ohoh ..

I guessed so. Redoing the graphics is no easy job ;)

Anyway, I like games like this a lot. Reminds me at good old C64 times.
