Photoshop 2.5

oh you read that right! I am at my second "job" where I look over the tv studio/video editing bays here at school for a work study type deal. Was looking through my office area where my video teacher also has all his stuff and wow...he has some many old books on photography and stuff I have been browsing through but what hit me was a 3.5" disk case and while flipping through some old classics I cam upon Photoshop 2.5 which is a 4 disk installation :) oh man. I wanna install it just to see.

Also We have the entire Studio on this shinny new G5

Final Cut Pro 5 HD
Motion
Sound Track
DVD Studio Pro 4

And I have access to tons of nice video equipment...too bad it is at night not too much experimenting I can do. But any suggestions on sites with motion tutorials to play around with or something? I have 4 hour shifts 2 days a week in this place and I might as well do something constructive.

dude, that's the version that started it all for me. photoshop 2.5. no layers. you had to CTRL+J to "float" stuff to move it around.

hell. I think I still got it on disks. I still have the Fractal Design Painter 2.0 on 5.25" disks around here somewhere too.

I love Stunt Race FX on the SNES! Old software is cool. I have the first Corel Draw suite, first Wordpefect, first Autocad, and old school 3D/animation like Animator and Visual Reality.

Motion is really cool. Still takes a lot of time to make complex composites. But it is definitely more user friendly then after effects...YUCK!

Once Motion brings out 3d compsiting in real time I think after effetcs will have a run for its money.

Actually I have a reeeealllly old powerPC Mac (it's a total fossil) and one day I was playing around with it-- I kid you not-- and I found Photoshop 1.0!!! I was honestly surprsied to see how much it had to offer... and also the credits went to like... 2 creators, I think, (I'm not positive), because the whole of Adobe sure wasn't on there!!!

damn ... some old arse programs in here.

I still have the floppy's for Photoshop 2.5, ALDUS Freehand 3, Macromedia Director 2.0, AutoCAD 12, and 3ds3 (for dos mind you) ... all education versions since those were the programs I used when I was in college.

Heck, my first computer was well over $4000 ... a 486 with a 356 mb hdd, 16mb of ram and some damn graphics card that cost me nearly a grand. It's absolutely amazing that you can have more than twice that "power" in a fairly cheap handheld today.

I've been using Flash since I was 17. Back when it was called Future Splash :D I'll go look up some of my old softwares and post photos later...think the oldest I own are games too.

This was my first computer. My dad got it in 1987 or so, when I was 6. It's an Atari PC-1 with an Intel 8088 processor and 512K of RAM, no hard drive.

My first and second computers both loaded off audio cassettes! 45 minutes for a good game to load, although you could speed it up by holding down play and fast forward!

I owned a typewriter first :D Typed up all my Delphi code and mailed it into the office so they could type it up into a real computer there :D

I didnt own anything close to a computer till I was 15. Never had a NES or any console or any gaming machine at that. The most I ever owned were boardgames, and those were shared between me and my brother.

I remember hanging out at a buddies house as a kid and playing some D & D game on a PLATO computer terminal his dad, who worked at Control Data had at their house. That was years before we got this sweet Apple II.
