ASP + Flash

I'll upload it then try it in the morning. That should make sure it's updated and I can get someone to check the email at the other end. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for all your help. I've learnt a lot doing this and intend to try using loadVars more often, for text uploading, etc.

The email's still not getting through. I'm wondering, as the movie clip with the form is in another movie clip, which in turn is loaded into the main movie, would I need a path for the code, such as

mainmoviemc.contactmc.myForm.loadVariables("mail.asp", "POST");

If you were putting the code on a button, as in:

code:

on(release){

    myForm.loadVariables("mail.asp", "POST");

}

---

. . .The path needs to be accurate no matter where the actions are taking place. If you didn't put in a correct path, then no variables will be sent. If there are no variables on the movieClip, then no variables will be sent.

Perhaps it would be easier to zip the files up and post them. I can take a look and let you know what I see.

Okay. Let's see if this works.

on the send button change the myForm.loadVariables to this.loadVariables

On frame 1 of the contactform movie, where you currently have a stop action, add the following variables:

name = "";
company = "";
email = "";
message = "";
address = "";

These were defaulting to undefined if nothing was entered into them and thus wouldn't trigger your error handling (which would be much better if you used the LoadVars object). But that's for another day : )

Try that and see if you get the wanted results.
