Wasn't laughing at you, I just liked your response. He's right I keep meaning to upload some stuff to FK but just haven't had the time.
You should man...some of your stuff would get just gobbled up. Some of my stuff I assumed..."well...they just want the backends" but some of it simply would require the person to own Koolmoves which makes it interesting, odd and kindof cool all at the same time. Either way the download counts are massive so someone is in there
Drop a few lines in the help files pointing to KM and who knows...might be a convert or two :)
Ok Brett
Chris I'm getting some suff repackaged for them up there soon
Steve thanks man, yep the calendar is from Wilbert's site, and did you spot Chris's switch hitter, which is in the popup all about home to produce the quick A to Z.
If you look at the minisite advertiser you will see one of my templates being put to good use, and at the bottom there is the link to the shops, and the site that was in the site check about instant shop. This has been a 3 month project and it ties together a whole spectrum of my activity. There will be one of these in towns all across the country soon. p.s. I got the .com too!( tomorrow the world!)
If you want the link again it is all about here
I used the calendar on the bands site too http://www.hathernband.co.uk :-)
I noticed the links to the shops.
Good luck with it
Steve
Off topic - but my 100th post - no reason just felt like a milestone
Steve
It's AVATAR time !!!! Whatcha waitin for?
I need to whip out the tuba huh?
[edit] Now I feel at home :) [/edit]
According to Koolexchange my last submission has been downloaded 791 times already :-)
I can't believe it is that good so I guess there may be a problem with counts on the server?
Steve
The server is fine. :)
It is downloaded that much :(
Allmost all from one IP address that traces back to a host in Rio de Janeiro.
It looks like someone was trying to attack the Exchange or just being funny.
I don't know how many times it is loaded by someone else. Do you have a suggestion to what value I should reset the counter ?
The Exchange needs a download gate then. I know who built the frontend....who built the backend?
Only 20 or so - it doesn't really matter.
What would anyone gain from that kind of attack?
BTW - Stoke - 300+? Eat your heart out!
Steve
I think it was at 41 and going strong when I looked at it for you.
Disregard that backend question...I have a feeling it's not tied to a relational database.
EDIT:
It's done to eitherQuote:
What would anyone gain from that kind of attack?
1. crush the server
2. make the server exceed it's allotted bandwith for the month. Picture that using a 4+ meg file transfer with a constant download by the same IP or ten of his friends directed to do the same...the totals would creep up fast. Once exceeded the person who owns the server would have to pony up dough to continue for the month or sit with a blank page that says BANDWIDTH LIMIT EXCEEDED until the new month arrives resetting his total. That is why we gate normally.
Pointless...Quote:
