Being famous is not same as making much money. Also consider how many Flash games are made every year and how many of these become known by masses.
yep definitely a market/markets out here for flash games. not had much experience licensing single games, working full time but do fancy giving freelance a bash.
market in the uk is good, cant speak for the rest of the world. im sure working remotely does work for some people but i think the best thing to do is to move where the work is.
I guess its like anything if you try hard enough you can make the mulla (money) to keep you going. You just need to keep ahead of competitors and keep up your standards. Something I just don't have :p
No, you're talking about the number of flash game websites.Quote:

The number of good flash games is even smaller, so there's plenty of opportunity to make something that stands out.
That said, it's still very difficult.
As for making money, it's already been said in this thread - games produced for household name clients as part of their ad budget, that's where the best money is. You generally wont get a look in if you're not an established ad or digital agency, but you can go and work for one and take a slice of the pie.
The number of good flash games has also increased a lot these last years, there are a LOT of good flash games out there. I 've been taking care of a directory for 4 years , and with the same level of required quality, my waiting list has clerly increased.
Unfortunately, most games are re-makes or duplicates of older games. Not many unique ones out there.
There about a bajillion asteroid clones.
usually it takes me a month and half to make a decent game. How much does a game cost? What does a game designer get paid?
I think it's better to work as customer service assistant in Burger King or Greggs...whatever
maybe if you just care about money burger king would fit you better :pQuote:

I sometimes really have the feeling that people with the skills dont even bother talking about money nor nagging about it simply because they enjoy their work as it is (not based primary because of the money)

No amounts please  It's the 2nd time you've posted figures recently Archbob, if you want to talk about how much you earn do so via pm to people who are interested.
As I said in an earlier post didinko, there's a world of difference between the whole portal / sponsorship world of Flash gaming and the actual "Nu-Media" industry ( Is it still called that ? ).
Squize.
Selling games cannot be compared with selling burgers.
There is creativity involved in developing FLASH games.
Picasso didn't paint for money!
But, Picasso's paintings are sold now for may be for $10,000,000 or more.
Everyone cannot be a Picasso!
for some people only a matter of perspective -_-Quote:

Then again, it takes a lot longer than that to just model and animate a single character for some games. So it all relative, very, very relative.Quote:

If I tried to mass produce crap games for a week, I would commit suicide.
Ask for more money then.Quote:

Or learn to make them faster.Quote:

Another excellent option :)
I think we dont have to loose the joy of making games that we like and think that the aditional benefit of doing them is to sell them to people that enjoy them the same way we do
Im allways making games, and I have sold just the half, I think like 40, I enjoy those sells like they where 80 or just 20 and I keep playing and enjoying my own games
Dont loose the joy!
