Anyone else picking up MW3? I went through gamestop today to pay off the game and at 6pm there was already kids lining up.
literally heard the first kid in line leaving a voicemail for his mom "yeah mom it's me don't forget to come pick me up at midnight"......wow 6 hrs early. get a life.
I can't comment. I stood in line 6 hours for Star Wars, 6 hours for the Wii and 3 hours for the Game Cube. Its actually pretty fun hanging out with like minded people who are allowed to put down their geek guard. Fk doing it in cold weather though, F that.
So a lot more people showed up to this specific gamestop then I expected. When I got there there was probably about 100-150 people in front of me. It went really smoothly though. Everyone had to have the game paid up to be in line and you just walked up showed them the receipt and they stamped it and handed you the game.
That kid I mentioned earlier obviously got whatever the biggest package you could get and because he was there so long I think they gave him the MW3 cardboard cutout. He was the classic high school kid that was way too excited for this game though. When he came out of the store he was walking back down the line showing it off but then a bunch of people were like WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE? GO PLAY IT! and he said he didn't have a ride yet....so classic.
I get what you mean by being there with a bunch of people who are like minded but I really think the COD crowd is an exception. It was quite a varied crowd- there were the biggest group which were teenage douchbags all grouped together just talking **** the whole time, then there was the "cool" dads with their 8 year old kids who probably shouldn't be at a midnight release, and then there was the old rednecks with their methed out girlfriends complaining why they were there the whole time. I don't know what crowd I fit into but damn was it entertaining to listen to these people.

I mean i like the game and all, but I'm just not good enough with analog sticks to be serious about it, I might look into getting it when its super cheap, but my next purchase is probably diablo 3, Or maybe forza 4 if i find it on a sale on black friday.
I was doing really good last night and it felt weird being the same level as a lot of people. This morning everything changed. I already feel behind all the people who stayed up all night and memorized all the maps and are almost to lvl 50. I am only 14.
Oh well still fun as hell. Once I get a headset I am going to take on that special ops stuff with a friend but right now I am about to check out this single player...
Also this elite nonsense is crap so far for me- because well it just doesn't work. I didn't buy the premium elite but I still tried to sign up for the free part of it(doesn't work in chrome) and I have an account now but every time I go to login it doesn't work. Also the elite app for the xbox doesn't work either. It is an endless loop of agreeing to the terms and then logging in and then agreeing to the terms and then logging in...over and over. bleh.
Try Firefox. I'm a devout chrome user but sometimes sh*t just don't work.
I'm with Silver, I could never put in the required time to be competitive. That ship has sailed. I'm perfectly happy to just go through top notch single player titles for the rest of my life. Maybe when I'm retired and can't stand people anymore I'll play another MMO.
I am not competitive AT ALL. This is definitely just a casual fun thing for me. I do miss playing COD4 with a keyboard and mouse though. I feel like I was way more accurate and faster with it. Oh well times have changed for my gaming. Much cheaper to have a console and buy a couple games then keep up with a new video card every new game that comes out.

As much as I LOVED Diablo 1 and 2 I think I am past my prime for the time to drop into a game like that and my desktop is also dated even for that game probably- hell it's not even hooked up right now.
I've been putting in a lot of time with dungeon defenders and League of legends.
Despite my love of mount and blade(literally hundreds of hours put into the original and sequal warband) i passed on the recent expansion.
I'm close to finishing forza 3, and i've dabbled in starcraft 2 a bit, but overall its been a lot of L.O.L trying to get up in the ranks.

Okay after 2 days heres my mini skyrim review:
This game is massive. There is almost TOO much to do. there are so many choices and so many places to go I'm just sort of overwhelmed. Def a game i could see myself losing a ton of hours in, but at the same time, not something i think i would buy just because i think for the most part its a quantity of quality situation. There are tons of things to do, and places to go, but for the most part the fighting is repetitive and doesn't take a lot of skill, while the environments are great.

After a couple of days without skyrim, i find myself wanting to more then i did after initially returning the rental. I dont have a goto RPG at the moment So maybe this is the game that would fill that void, i might just go get a used copy of oblivion instead.
anyone tried the on live streaming thing? saw that demo'd a while back at the GDC now it seems to have surfaced.
To me it's kinda like 'all about Gameplay' - DotA, WoW PvE and Conquer Online.
I Played Aion also and i have to say that they really suck in that.
