Most iPhone games that are actually bought are made by same companies that dominate every other platform (EA, Sega, Popcap, Gameloft). Even when you can create game of same quality (which is unlikely considering how much those companies can spend on every game), independent developer will always lose on making your game noticed. Its not same market as Flash games where you could in theory get away with buggy code and simple graphics because people are not expecting much anyway.
