Hi 8Minus8
Are there any of your works in the web? I've no experience with photography and am always happy to see some. Could you give me the url? Or url of some other cool photo-sites?
Thanks in advance,
Khan

the overall design of the main page is good, its nothing I haven't seen before though. The content is pretty pointless and boring. I think I'd rather see a site with lot more creative animation then just a whole bunch of images.
keep up the good work!
I like seeing the direction this thread was taking, into the possible relations to other art movements, since for a few months I've been convinced flash design is not unlike the "early" days of video art
cheers!
No idea what video art is especially "early" video art but I like the sound of it. Its not guys pointing the camera back at the tv to create video feedback is it? I thought about doing some of those, turning them into avis and then importing into flash.Quote:

With what was said above about Flash being the mediator of art, have to agree. Flash is able to incorporate many parts of the already existing art world. You can import images, be they photos or scanned works done with paint, oil pencil, etc. You can use graphics and layouts like you would in print media. You can draw upon cinema, film, home movies, slide shows, videos even video games. And what about the influence of the film trailers? That's gotta be huge in Flash intros. I do think, because of the nature of the software and its interface, you arrive at certain schools of thought and methodologies within building sites entirely in flash. HTML seems so generic like no matter what you do it still looks like every web site you've ever seen. They all try and read like a book or magazine. Flash sites end up being more of a journey. The preload sections are like the wait you experience on an airplane and once you land . . .blamo! Some german hacker's flash site. ewww. I want my money back. well gotta go. Cheers! Jeers! alround this time. Even the people in the back.
hi guys,
first of all i enjoyed seeing the heated argument about
art versus design.
i think this site is art.
why? because its meant to be art.
thats all you need in these post modern times.
marcel duchamp put a toilet in a museum,
jeff kuntz pu poorn pics of ciciolina in the moma.
and thats just to name the edges...
before commenting "this is not art" try defining what you think art IS.
art is a concept, art is a feel, art is a saying.
i found all these thing (in very small quantities) in this site.
i give both thumbs up. art , design, i dont care.
they got something good going there...;)
loved the shaving guy.
but maybe not everyone gets it...;)
boaz zippor
milano, italy
p.s.
this is my site (its still in production, but already works.)
http://utenti.tripod.it/bujum/site
and yes. it is art. or design. or just playing around...
you chooose..;)
I have the suspicion that some people are trying to make good design and they fail, so they call it art. Maybe artists are just wannabe designers....
I wouldn't call the site in question art, though. Rather design for designs sake wich may make it art in a kantian kind of way. It is rather pleasurable, yet doesn't contain anything but visual stimuli, and I am not saying that that is a bad thing.
Just my opinion
;)
