Same issue here, also, using draw incurs the same performance hit that drawing vector MCs does. So I am finding that sticking to copyPixels and blitting different sprite frames is the best way to go...

this whole online editor thing leads me to ask, is it possible to do this without php or asp? Maybe use the xml connector or something to write an xml which has the txt in it?

I will post it when the final version is done. its gonna have textsize\color options, actually i may try to use CSS with it. We will see how it goes ;)

I have a flash thing i made which makes editing text on a page extra easy, It saves in a txt file and the txt file is modified by the flash clip, it has login/pass, and its crazy easy....

I have it done! I jumped up and down and ran around the room when i pulled it off, this could easily be hooke dup to a DB if neccesarry but right now pulls the text from a txt file. gimme you email...
