Amazing, I even remembered my password to connect here...
Hey good old guys :)
Those forums had a Golden Age once (at least for me), I will never forget.

Yes! For the sloppy / irregular tiles, I have an array with 32 slots. And each slot informs me how many free vertical pixels you have from the top of that tile.
And yes, you can extend your system...

Here we go again, then :)
That's what I said as option #1 (or, what I WANTED to say ;) )
(And that's another quote with you)
Fall_X... bitmap collision? Oh yes, I understand now... I've...

Haha, are you serious?
Well, my plan was to develop another personal project (like I did with Bubble Islands), and it's either a fighting game (Street Fighter-like) or an adventure-platform game...
-
It works very well so far :)
That's funny, over the past few days I was working on exactely the same kind of engine (although I needed several days of work compared to your "several hours").
...
-
Now that's the kind of game WilloughByJackson wanted to make :)
(And me too? *cough*)
I didn't like it too much though :( I didn't feel any kind of "power" or "impact" coming from the fight...
-
Haha, well, his server is down now... Too much traffic? ^_^
-
Thanks Viza :)
That's funny because I didn't take a lot of time for the AI, just tried to have a very playable fighting game (combo moves such as hadokens / double-taps are very natural this time)
...

Hey Virruss, would you like to share your game, maybe? :)
Regarding the "Freeze" part, I know exactely what you mean, and I'm afraid that with such an old engine (and the way it was built back...
-
Thanks, Blink :) And yes, I have those old sprites in my portfolio since so long... They should be from... 2004?
It reminds me my old FK days :)

Wow, oldie!! Excellent :D
If I remember, that was one of my 1st "commercial" game using pixel art (and I realize that I worked a lot with you...). (Yes, "commercial" is in brackets because the...

Well sure :)
When I wrote "transform the Timer variable into minutes/seconds...", I meant that you have to take into account the FPS set for your game...
For example, 1st frame of your game:

Thanks!
That looks/plays a lot like the ressource I tried, it's just quicker now. Phew, we are getting there :)
btw JediMind, I didn't try the graffiti editor yet and I'm sorry about that, but...
-
Hey Vengeance! What do you mean? :)
Using time-based instead of frame-based? I don't think so, because if you are getting many slowdowns in your game, then instead of finishing it in 10 seconds,...
-
You should probably try a frame-based timer rather than a real-time one then... That way, even if your game runs at 2 fps because of the slowdowns, it'll work.
You know, something as simple as:
...
-
Not totally OT, hopefully, but:
Do you have any working solution for that (excluding "Print Screen")? I saw an example in the past (in AS2?), it worked but it was just terribly slow even with...
-
Really, nothing happens when you click that big image in their site? Hmm, it's supposed to open a pop-up with the game...
Direct link (not a pop-up anymore, but yay, it works :) ):...
-
Thanks for the positive comments so far! ^^
looks like the character structure is based on your fight engine.
...And you are correct! That motivated me to create another fighting game where you...

2 pages, Squize. Damn guy :)
All the sprites in this game have been done in vectors (now that you are talking about it, I should probably buy a tablet in the future :) ).
The green bad guys are...
-
Cool, it's finally live! ^^
Great work boys! And thanks for your nice words about the art Squize :)
And yeah, the sewers level looks nice, especially the animated background (there are still...
-
WOW, yes now that's a very, very old engine (something like 2003?)!
onClipEvent, haha :D
Anyway, I did a quick google search, and I found something that can be very interesting for you......
-
Hi guys,
Here's another game for you to enjoy, BARACK*PAPER*SCISSORS, aka "Finally, an election process that makes sense!"
It's a simple Rock/Paper/Scissors game, but I think that we put as...
-
...Maybe I'll take some time later and explain how the project was behind the scenes (I'm just super busy with another project with Squize, again ;) ).
But, this is the engine they provided for...
-
YES! :)
That was certainly a very old post, but yes, some Megaman games have their passwords "cracked", and they even explain how it works - it should be a good reference (there's also a password...
