Ridick, I can only comment for Flash MX, but it goes something like this...
Flash doesn't handle bitmap graphics very well. If you want crisp, your best bet is to save the bitmap as a file type...

There's been very little revolution in computer games over the past couple of years - and personally, I'm a little dissapointed that most games today very much resemble 8-bit games, with more fancy...

You could always look at installing yourself within a complete solutions marketing compnay.
Pretty much all the games I make at work are not created so much for the fun value - but as a form of...

Hey b3_x, you should be able to just attach all in-game MCs to a holding MC and just scale that.
The only difficulty you might have, is if you're used to dragging instances of MCs onto the stage...

Same difference though. It's almost unfortunate that you got it for free - as the s/w landed on your lap, you probably won't appreciate it as much.
I bought Flash 5, and can remember paying...

Yeah, PNG 24-bit should work - but why not just use smaller file size GIFs?

The player would need a different firing mechanism to hit the horizontally moving targets, e.g just UP + SPACE to shoot two bolts from either side.
The motion tween was just purely for asthetics'...

Good use of keyboard acrobatics, but I think there needs to be 'something else' to break up the repeated action and anticipation of where the enemies are coming from, e.g. maybe 1 in every 25 enemies...

Not sure which version of ActionScript you're using, but a standard FOR loop should consist of the following ( hey, this is all covered in the 'manual' anyway?!!?):

RE: SFX - I just trawled some pay site and bought individual ones.
SFX TIP : go for a background loop and minimal event sounds. You will need fewer sounds, which should make it easier to source,...

I produced everything in that game apart from the Highscore Table script and the SFX.
PM me if you think I can help you out.

If it makes you feel any better Squize, I've been bottling up that response for about 6 months :)

Yeah Kakihara, it was a tricky one.
Client bascially wanted to reinforce links between organisation names, their logos and what they do.
It's a lot easier to make addictive games based around...

Hey RipX,
Your proposed method would certainly bring the file size down considerably. However, I think I'm right in saying that using the Drawing API to create a point, will cause Flash to track...

Okay, first thing's first. I'm making games in the real world - I have to take client demands and target audience into account, so I'm affraid that the game could easily be perceived as not being...

I did have a little look at it - and there lots of 'issues'.
E.g. You have replicated code for every single Wall MC - this could potentially become a nightmare if you have to edit this code. ...

Well done re: Rap Video Squize (and the rest of your crew).
Really well produced.

Yes, one of my main roles is to develop cheeky Flash games.
I actually taught Chris everything he knows. Still the padawan young Etches, you will never become the master.
Etches - I'll have a...

Actually - you probably shouldn't take my comments too seriously, just because I wrote them with confidence. A lot of design can be objective, plus I'm just a humble programmer :)

Agree that bottom left edge should be more designed - but am not sure about using a large image - you'd have to remove it wehn navigating to the gallery.
Maybe just a small logo - or cheesy...

Hi all - just made a little website to promote some friends' electronica collective - the site will grow - and I have to tweak some graphics - just wanted to know if it preloads properly etc (i.e....
