If I remember correctly once you get near, or to 200 frames, the program will then automatically insert another 200, this will keep happening when you get to the end of the amount of frames...

To import a 3DS file you need to close your current project and then go :
File > New from 3DS
From there you can copy your mesh and paste it into any other scene!

It works out to around £50 - I'm a V3 user and I'd recommend it 100%
It really does rock. I used V2 for a time aswell but this latest release blows its predecessor out of the water !!

V3 now contains an 'Animated Lathe' whereby you can create Lathe morphs with the animation timeline, similar to Flash. I believe the process is the same too, create you first frame with lathe image...

I believe this can be modelled quite well in Swift with the use of the Lathe Editor and a couple of Extrusions. Lets hope someone will jump in here and show you exactly how it can be done.
