Thanks UnknownGuy.
I will try removing the alpha and see if it improves things though this is only used when a ball goes out of play so I am not sure it will make my game any more playable on the...

Thanks Squize - I really appreciate the reply. I will give it a go without the alpha and scaling and see if it improves things. Meanwhile I have created a Corona version that runs very smoothly on...

I have been trying to optimise the following code and would therefore appreciate any further...

Thanks Squize.

Don't expect to...

Thanks Squize - that is very helpful. I will make a coffee and have a read.
Any reason why you are steering clear of the iPhone packager? Hopefully because you have plenty of other work:)

Been playing with the trial version of CS5 and the iPhone packager and was impressed with how it translated my game functionality seamlessly. However not so impressed with the performance - it was...

Sorry I only just received the notification of the reply to this post. I understand now about the camera angle.
The game is coming together quite well now thanks to your help. I can't put a link...

Thanks BlinkOK - I have gone back to the drawing board and will see how my new found knowledge helps me try and crack this one.
Many thanks for all your help on this.

-
Thanks BlinkOK - that is really helpful. I have a few questions though.
Am I right in assuming I will have no need for the slope element as I am modelling a football pitch which is flat? Therefore...
