Sounds like a great excuse to do some actionscripting again, tho I'm a bit rusty.
I think all working together is more exciting. Someone releasing something amazing before i've even started would...

Agreed. That last bit is the hardest, because you are no longer doing it for yourself (since its already playable) but for other people.
I have a nearly finished wiz n liz game, which is not miles...

You could always have an option to switch to a solid radius with no fade, rather than no overlay at all. Then you wouldn't get an advantage.

If you have access to php and mysql from your hosting company, then use them. Both are quite easy to learn, and work together to give you access to a single database online that you can use to make...

Motion tweens eh? Thats ingenious. Thanks for sharing the knowledge everyone.

Nice.. Sorry for butting in, but can I ask why the rotation appears different for each direction? is there a code shortcut that only works for clockwise/ccw?

High score table would be nice, maybe when you die a more detailed explanation of where you scored your points, and what stages you completed. Other than that I really have no criticism. Its...

I can see StenFLASH's point of view though. Is it a co-incidence that the gap woman has got to just the same point of the game as the person with the immaculate fingernails.
I'm not saying its not...

If you did it in actionscript, how about making the speed adjustable? Either user controlled, or a shooter 'on rails' style, accelerate to the next area, and then slow down when you get to the...

I just usually go with: as big as it needs to be, and no bigger.
Making a game in such a way that you can reduce or increase the size if nessecary is a very helpful thing to do in the long run.

I absolutely agree with Baukereg that Links Awakening is the best. Everything is on par with OOT (apart from visuals wise), but.. Its all done on a portable, with four colours!
I love the way...

The team competition idea sounds awesome. Someone Definitely needs to organise this.
The main problem I can see is that it people dropping out would be much more of an issue (when this is not...

72 hours? I thought the point of the 48 hour thing was that anyone working full time (someone must be ;) ) would not be at a disadvantage.

You could always try
onClipEvent(load){
_width=40; _height=20;
}
Then at least it would hopefully display correctly when the movie is run. Not tested this though, its just an idea.

How about a platformer, where the background and foreground can be switched between (at portals, special power, whatever). So there are two routes through each level, each with a different playing...

my experience started on Saturday at 2-3pm GMT
Sat down at my computer, and started browsing the web. Eventually got round to checking flashkit, and remembered about the competition. Had a good long...

I want to be a felt-tip sketch
I think it would be fun
I'd sit upon the classroom wall
Just fading in the sun
A scientist or astronaut
would get up before ten
but I would snooze and laze all...

_rotation does equal degrees. Degrees don't stop when you get to 360, and they don't stop below 0. They just repeat every 360. Where you choose a cut off point to make them loop back around is...

Good work!
I only have one criticism. The backgrounds are very nice, but a bit too crisp for the speed they are moving, and it made my eyes start to water a little. Maybe a little blurring in the...

Thats why there is a 'all round best total' award.

Ok, I see your point, but I read:
"A hobby I'd like to derive an income from"
As
"A hobby I'd like to get paid to do"
Which to me means a different thing to
"A hobby I'd like to turn into a job"...

I read something on this a while back and made one. Here's mine anyway.
var s=String.fromCharCode(39);
var data='trace("var s=String.fromCharCode(39);"); trace("var data="+s+data+s+";");...

I'm quite confused that some people do this as a hobby, and wouldn't like to be paid :confused:

That was really enjoyable for a test. I liked the way every screen had something new to interact with. Even though they were all quite simple, it kept me wondering what the next screen would have....
