It can usually be solved in several ways in the current flash player.

1) break apart your bitmap, place it in a mc and play around with placement (turn off the 'snap to pixel' feature)

i don't think you can save filter settings even in ps cs2 can you? anyway - didnt adobe just buy mm? all they need to do is put a save as fla in cs2 and everybody's happy!

I use psd2fla to bring photoshop into flash - which does the job but isn't...

IMO - to think of Director as flash's big brother or as an alternative to flash is wrong.

There is alot of cross-over between the 2 app's but director's strengths aren't in web development etc......
