Wow. Cool, thanks for the heads up Blink! :)
-
You use it too?! Madness. :)
Hopefully you read the article that went along with it, that was trying to impress, at the very least, that the only thing worse than bad coding conventions are none...

My dream of just relaxing in a pool collecting checks is one step closer to reality! :)

tonypa: I really liked your entry. Easily one of the most (if not the most) unique entry out of the bunch. It was tough though. Really tough. :)
-
@chriserrorplain: I really liked the high score component and I don't think it violated the spirit of the competition which is why there was no noise from it. I really liked the promise of the game...

Sorry about being awol from the thread this week. The launch of Bloody Fun Day coincided with not only the 4k Flash Game Competition but a bunch of other stuff as well.
But, the important part is...

I'm going to go back to the drawing board on the instructions. I really had no idea people were getting caught up by that. :(

We're proud to announce our newest game, Robo Riot.

abseeley: Just make sure you designate your other entries as being non-competitive entries and I'll post them up too.
Flash CS4 should be able to save a Flash CS3 compatible fla. So you should be...

Yeah, the concept might be stealable, though, so if you're worried, don't use that uber concept you've been working on for the last 6 years. ;)
About the readmes... Basically, the read me is going...

I don't want any rights other than the right to post the swf. So yeah, you can do whatever you want with any of the stuff you submit to the competition.
As renderhjs points out, this is more about...

Updates: http://www.gamepoetry.com/blog/2009/02/06/flash-4k-game-competition-prizes-and-rules/
To summarize:
1) There is now an "audience favorite" prize. You do not need to release source code...
-
@sietjp: You can submit the game with a sponsorship link, but it'll count towards your 4k limit. Each participant will get the opportunity to do a shot out (which I'll post with the swf) which can...
-
@ tonypa: Mind if I post those findings to the gamepoetry blog? I'm sure some people would find that very helpful.
-
I'll clarify the fonts thing in the rules, but just to be clear, using system fonts is not considered an external resource and is therefore fine.
-
hah.. no, you didn't. I didn't look at whatever you or whoever posted, and ignored people speaking about things other people posted here. Also, I don't know you so I can't exactly be subconsciously...
