im not on the os x yet, im on a G3, ill upgrade to osx when i get a new G4, hopefully this year, ive tried osx on my g3 but it was not ideal, bit slow so im waiting...

you can turn brush strokes into a shape using the 'object' pull down menu, then choose 'path' then 'outline stoke'

you can also edit objects that are grouped or had effects put on...

hello there - jpeg does not support transparency, the only transparent bitmap format flash will support is PNG.

j4mes makes a good point - start with a sketch book or a few scribbles on paper. best way to start in my book, not everythings digital!

I use illustrator and occasionaly freehand. I would presume there would be more compatability with freehand and flash but i never have had a problem with importing my exported illustrator SWF's into...
