    new papervision examples

    http://blog.papervision3d.org/2007/02/13/thank-you/

wow. Its getting like playstation 1

i can't wait until they release the source on this. I was wondering how the animated one works, if they are using the .ase file does that contain the animations aswell, or would they code these in (manually)

    *cough, Render?

well d3s_inc your werewolf had me mumbling high praises under my breath! Very cool! Can you just load an md2 file into papervision or did you put together some funky parsing in papervision??

maybe you have the debug dev player installed? If so it will show error/warning messages in some of those examples. You can normally skip all for those and then it should show the demo anyway.

    Amazing!

    mr_malee
haha, Twisted Metal... What about the 1st Ridge Racer instead? Or wait, something without textures like Virtua Racing or Virtua Fighter... Maybe flash will be able to handle that soon...

    =)

    Flashkit
I coded up a parser and custom classes to do the animation and such.
If you get the newest alpha of papervision, my code is now outdated, by about a month.. I hope to revise that stuff soon.. but if you read on you see I'm busy. The Wolf isn't even mine, sort of, the demo is on Carlos (creator of Papervision3D) website using my classes (with a slight fix ). THe original animation can be seen http://www.d3s.net/phil/pv3d/examples/TestMd2.html.

Yess!!! I am still around! I know I don't show up a lot.. but I'm a college student now and have been very busy with class work lately... I'm trying to get some stuff together soon though =)

So does this mean flash games will go the way of the console games, big and epic with only large teams able to develop them, then followed by a renaissance of indie and casual games?

hopefully not,- 1 big plus of flash is still the smal file size (= smal project) and the rapid production time compared to c++, phyton,... I believe that even within a several years from now on this will be a main priority of flash development.

1 big problem imo. is that some 3d- API´s arent that much interested in explaining how they did the tricky parts- they rather want others adopt their classes way of handling their things (meaning: not thinking about it how it works, just use it).

and for the record: the whole 3d stuff is alot easier as most people think here,- it´s just that there arent that much tutorials around (or as good as none) that explain things like UV-mapping, polygon drawing and backface culling/ z- ordering.

Papervision looks like the one we've all been waiting for, much better than Sandy.

Everyone wants to know more about Papervision at the moment.. Their Blog and examples don't reveal much; can't blame them for that though.

Anyone know what the Papervision UI (if it has one) looks like?
    We're all in it together
