I think of this one right here:

Let's say you are living in NYC.
And you like your city.
And further there would be a site that just does interviews on people who live in New York city.
People from all different branches, occupations, professions.
People from the street or celebrities to some extend.

Would you visit such a site?

ok let's say you live in Chicago, Paris, London, Berlin, Mailand etc.......

Please let me know, i would be very interested of what you think and if you know of something like that let me know as well please.

Ya, I think that I would, if it where Tulsa, and it had a section just for people that where designers, programmers, or engineers, since those are the only peoples opinion that I would really be intersted in, since they might have good info that I could use.

It is really a cool idea, and would not be hard, if you had a database driven site, to make it so that more than one individual city could be developed. This way, depending on the city on the user choses, their own personal city could be loaded.

You could call it something like "MyCity.com".

I was thinking about interviewing people from all different areas, interesting people or people that can say something or young bands that have a CD out etc...

It should be database driven, yes. But I first would plan on one city and start from there maybe built up all the categories for one city (Berlin in my case) and then try to enlarge it.

Hmm I think it would be a lot of fun doing and it should be interesting to have a new interview every day maybe so people can come back often.

I really want to go about it.

I've had a similar idea some time ago but the concept never did see the light. I thought that it would be nice to create a interactive map of the Netherlands, in my case.

A visitor could access all the digital cities represented on the map, a lot of cities have theirs as a website like http://www.amsterdam.nl, they will be added for free. As well as social foundations, like a museum, could be added by the creators of the site. Making it interesting for visitors, while hits are counting you could ask companies for their intrest. And make it possible to access company's who have a building represented on the map.

So it would be a combination of collected items which are typical for a country and/or city's culture, and the possibility to find companies on location of their establishment.

The domain name would be something like DigiNed.nl | Digitaal Nederland = Digital Netherland. Or Holland.nl :-)

yeah daReb,
i was really thinking of not creating a virtual city etc rather than having people contribute interviews ( employees so to say) and have only interviews on the site. Sort of specialized in interviews, from upcoming events, nads, artists, exhibitions, taxi drivers, designers, etc...

Short repetitio:

a website if a city (as chicago, paris, NYC, london, Mailand, Berlin etc...) that covers that city.
On that website, only interviews from people living in that city or people coming to the city to perform (bands, artists, etc...) from all kinds of professions and ages etc...

like an online interview site.
