Anyone knows anything about "Animo"? Is it something for us or just for Hollywood?

Animo is a Cartoon Animation production tool.

It was used extensively by DREAMWORKS on Eldorado. etc.
primarily for 2d ink & trace.

PC only and fairly pricey.

There is a component of the package called "Inkworks"
which is being developed for Maya and Max.

Part of whats being developed for the next rev. of the product is also vector based .swf output.

I know The Iron Giant was made on it and the program is so expensive that the official site has "dealers" to sell it to you. Ouch!!! Check out "Prelude to Eden" animation on http://www.atomfilms.com An animator made it at home on his PC for fun. It kicks!

Animo is not a "for fun" tool, don't get the wrong idea, its fairly hardcore.

Actually for the record "prelude to eden" was done by one of their testers who worked in house and did loads of tradeshow demos for Cambridge animation systems.
