my favorite cartoon is any cartoon which is NOT anime.
HA!

A dinasaur cartoon (dinos from outer space?)
dino-riders?
is that the one you're thinking of?
mighty mouse was phat. john k ren and stimpy was phat. (funny, he worked on both of those...)
there was this one cartoon that i haven't been able to remember the name of for years... it was a space-pirate show where these guys on some sort of spaceship/boat would go to different planets and do stuff.
remember musclemen or something like that? the little pink toys? they had a shortlived cartoon for a while, i think... all i remember is that i had a BUCKET of those little dudes... an entire bucket! and they were so lame!
remember C.O.P.S.?
or that 'adult' fish/cops cartoon that was on at night for, like, a couple of weeks?

Yeah He's in that new movie with Johny Dept and Penelope Cruz, I think it's called "Blow". Something about columbian drug dealers in the 70's.

Sad news indeed - one of the pioneers of television animation, and an inspiration to all modern animators. There's a link to an article in Animation World Magazine regarding the man in my footer.

I think that The Flintstones were his best creation.

Robotech, stunning anime cartoon from the 80's. Does anyone remember Hi-man, or Masters of the Universe ? that was great, also from 80's, watched it as a kid.
Robotech is still going sorta... The Macross series are a spin off of it. I watched RoboTech until about 1989 or so when the last chanel that carried it decided to pull the plug becuase of to many compliants about the to adult nature of the show- and this was the very Censored General Mills edition.
Samarui Pizza cats, mid 90's, is perhaps one of the funiest parodies of anime/ TMNT I have ever seen- It is very funny stuff. They only did 1 or 2 seasons though.

Re: Nickelodeon!!
Actually PeeWee Herman never retired He just retired his chracter of Pee Wee, He has been in several production after his little incident at the adult movie theater.
My favorite was his role in the Buffy The Vampire Slayer movie where he played a vampire that just wouldnt die. He was hillarious in it.

You mean you never heard of <cough>Pe-We's big adventure...
It was all over the news, talk shows, morning shows, newspapers, radio, satarday night live, ETC...
The networks pulled his show after that. If first movie after that was Penguins father in Batman 2
