hehe.. yeah
I was kinda going for this really mean lookin pirate fella who carried around this plant with him.. like its his softer side/best friend. In an early sketch he had a mug of ale on the bar with him, but i decided he needed something to balance out his evilness. I've really enjoyed drawing fun stuff again. I've been drawing product conceptual stuff for school and stuff that I had neglected my love of anime and comic art Well I hope I can start putting this stuff in photoshop and flash soon.. I wanna get a wacom tablet to start doign this stuff.
btw my penciled stuff almost always comes out better. hehe.. thats life i guess.
cheers!

Kind of like the classic Bresson movie "The Professional"! I love that movie.
Not sure if anyone here played Maniac Mansion (Lucasarts), but remember the purple tentacle?
I do like the picture, tho. I like your concept, too - you should definately run with the story, perhaps put together a comic or some sort of atmospheric animation with it.
Squink - doing consistently good work, and in three (relatively) different styles - you're really putting your Wacom through it's paces. Keep 'em coming, definately.
mazeguy - I really liked the pic - good shading, great character. He's just begging to be animated (though after working most of the night and only having a handful of actual motion tests to show for it, I understand your lament about work time. )

That top one is just begging for some lipsynch animation like Thundachunk's on page 1.

I had to post anew version of my pirate guy with his little plant.

Here's something I just cobbled together quick for this thread.
[swf width="225" height="170" background="#FFFFFF"]http://www16.brinkster.com/sunguy/makincall.swf[/swf],
It's a caricature of me trying to figure out the somewhat nonsensical country codes so I can make an international phone call (based on a true story. )
And I decided to take down my footer temporarily to honor Isao Okawa, a great visionary and a great man who recently passed away.
